It has been a long day! Groceries, dry cleaning, and baby shower shopping. Two babies in 3 months! One beauty has graced us with her presence already! Eliana Arelyn…Logan Scott (possibly Eliana’s husband??? ‘= } is next. I have been oggling a hand made baby afgan for weeks at a local thrift shop. It was still there, all bright and sparkly and with hand cross stitched tiny baby bibs. I was proud of my little gift and was on my way to purchase the wrap and bows!
A grandmother’s invention to acquire more for her grandchild! So off to the local CVS I go at 8:45 pm! I had a brilliant idea! Travel sized baby shampoo, baby oil, baby powder, baby wipes and hand sanitizer (for the compulsive mommy!), and a gift bag ( the wrappings must be separate, as this part of the gift has to go in the wishing well!). A cute little bag of bath time goodies! Now I’m walking to the cash register when I see, out of the corner of my eye, a bag of duckies! Bath-time rubber duckies, a mama and 2 babies! Perfect! To the cash register and another $15.00 later, travel sizes add up quickly, I’m off to put the goodie bag together.
I get home and I open the bag-o-duckies and Buster ( my mini-daschund puppy) has his little nose all up in the bags! I must have brought him something! I mean these cartoon dogs feel as if they are the center of the universe, and become quite put out if you don’t believe it as well! So I give him one of the baby duckies, which he is quite happy with. Off to bury it in the laundry room, with a small stash of dog biscuits, I’m sure. I put the finishing touches on the Wishing Well gift and put the bag to the floor for a second as I clean away the trash. I look around to find my thieving daschund pulling the mama duck from the gift bag…how I wish I had the camera! The look on his face when I demanded the rubber duckie back! The insult of it all.
I’m still laughing and singing…Rubber duckie your the one! You make bathtime so much fun, rubber duckie …lalalalalala.
