Today is the day we should consider the cost of what was done for humanity! Every denomination has a time or ritual to recognize today, in reverence of our Savior. I am implementing a new one in my life. Good Friday used to mean, quite simply, the beginning of a three day weekend. A gift from God, if ever there was one.
Now? Well, I have realized the sacrifice, and while I still do not believe I “feel” the full impact of what was done for humanity, for me, I am becoming in the realization. If I really “felt” the impact, I believe I would spend every day in a puddle of tears singing my thanks in the phrase “Holy, Holy, Holy!”
I am going to keep the thought of His love for me, in the forefront of my mind. I am going to comtemplate each thorn and all four nails. It was about me that day, it was about you…I pray that each person who stumbles upon this “hopeannfaith’s well” is brought to the amazing revelation of our Father God’s love for us.
He died for us today! I ache and the tears are on my lashes as I contemplate all of this.
Did you count the cost? Its okay. He did it for us.
16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([a]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
17For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
21For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [[a]endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].
Everything was provided for you and for me in the Atonement. This Atonement.
Have you counted the cost? Have you considered what was done for you? I’m going to spend some quiet time with my Savior today. A time when He was suffering for me.
A Blessed Good Friday to you All !
