The Living, Instructing Word of God !! Colossians 2:20-23…

My friends this is exciting ! This is the Living, Instructing Word of Gods !!!

Wielding the Sword of Truth

Wielding the Sword of Truth

Colossians 2:20-23

20 Therefore,[a] if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— 21 “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” 22 which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

These things have the appearance of wisdom, however they are proof of self and false humility. We were not instructed to neglect our bodies…we were not instructed to impose religion [self – imposed] or show our humility to God in these ways…in reality this all humiliates us in the site of God.

My friends search yourself…what did the Word of God instruct us to do…you to do?

The Breast Plate of Faith without the Sword…

of Truth creates fatigue…

We learn in our Christian walk to stand in faith. Without Faith it is impossible to please the Father. We Christians all know this scripture.

Well…I was in Bible School last night…yes another 2 years of Bible School. No better way have I found to find your way back into the Truth of God’s Word. The teachings were outstanding as usual.

A friend, actually a husband and wife team, are teaching faith. My husband and I have  a great love and respect for these two people. We are blessed to count them among our very best friends. The teaching was eye opening. ‘

Just when you think you have something down…well you all know.

My friend taught that we all stand in faith. Without the faith we can not get what we are trusting God to provide. If we cannot see ourselves within our goal we cannot access the promise we were given by God. This is all up to us as His children. He has provided all we need for life and abundance.

So we stand…and we become weary…we speak our weariness [which I believe is a problem in the first place]. We question whether we have heard from God, we question ourselves… that is assuming that we haven’t doubted all along…will He…can He….Why would He????

Well the analogy went like this…

We can stand behind our Breast Plate of Faith in these battles…these wars…yet we still become so very weary waiting on God…Why?

Well if we were in a literal war, our shield is there to protect our bodies…however how long can you stand up to an entire army battering away at your shield, without getting weary…without getting tired and bruised? Eventually we are going to weary…eventually we, our bodies, our spirits become battered. Eventually we will fall and be crushed by the shield itself…

The Breast Plate of Faith is only vitally successful when used with the Sword of Truth…our faith cannot replenish itself without the Word of God…if we are standing in Faith alone, what faith are we standing on? The faith of our own strength? How does that strength remain strong? By our own understanding?

NO by the Truth of the Word of God. This replenishes our understanding of our power and authority in Christ. Without it our faith faulters…its weakens…because our own minds begin to try and think of strategies to control the situation…schemes of our grandure.

We know to stand…We must stand in Faith, knowing that the promises and blessings of God are rightfully ours…we know that we know…

When we can do no more Stand in Faith! Just don’t forget to wield that Sword of Truth…it is the Word of God that brings the Victory!

Alaskan’s Opinion of GOP VP Candidate Sarah Palin-Truth!

Alaskan’s Opinion of GOP VP Candidate Sarah Palin-Truth!

Summary of the eRumor:
A resident of Wasilla, Alaska wrote her views on Republican VP Candidate Sarah Palin pointing out her executive experience and calling her “America’s answer to Margaret Thatcher.”
The Truth:
Deb Frost in Alaska is real and told that she wrote this email to a friend on the morning of August 29, 2008.  Her friend then forwarded it to some other friends.  By Monday September 1 the eRumor had snowballed into one of the most circulated emails for the weekend. updated 09/12/08

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:

Written by Deb in AK, Friday, 8/29/2008:
One Alaskans opinion about our new Republican VP candidate…

Feel free to agree or disagree, but here is an Alaskan’s viewpoint on our new VP candidate (and it is an opinion shared by the vast majority of Alaskan residents).

Sarah Palin is the US’s answer to Margaret Thatcher!

Anyone who thinks she cannot handle the job or deal briskly and efficiently with ANY issue, including foreign governments … well, they haven’t met our Sarah <grin>. She is not “just a woman”, she is not “just a way to get votes” and if anyone expects her to smile, simper and be sweet – they don’t know Sarah. She is *more than* qualified for the job and the best possible choice McCain could have made.

As an Alaskan resident as well as a resident of Wasilla, AK, where Sarah Palin was at one time Mayor … I can speak with confidence. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is exactly what she portrayed during her introduction this morning and exactly what our US Government needs. She is ethical to a fault (if there is such a thing), a refreshing change to the status-quo and as smart and determined a PERSON (gender really isn’t an issue here as far as I’m concerned) as anyone could ask for at the head of government.

Sarah is no naïve “small town mayor” – she just *started out* there. Btw, as Mayor of Wasilla, she brought this “small town” through a lot of GOOD changes and left it at the end of her term having grown to the 4th largest CITY in Alaska – a lot of growth and a stronger economic base than ever before.

She has EXECUTIVE experience *running a government* (something NONE of the other candidates can actually boast, even John McCain <g>) as Governor of Alaska and got there by defeating the *incumbent* Republican Governor, who was definitely part of the “old school” and who WAS very much in the pocket of the big oil companies. We in Alaska wanted change -and we got it in the person of Sarah Palin!

Sarah Palin is everything she looks to be and more. Her approval rating as Governor of Alaska has been as high as 95% and is currently leveled out consistently in the upper 80 percentile throughout the state (and in both parties) – the HIGHEST approval rating of ANY sitting Governor.

Sarah has been turning around corruption in the Legislature of Alaska – turning things on their ear for that matter; cutting spending in spite of the increased income the state is currently receiving due to the high oil prices – she has insisted on putting a huge amount of the “windfall” into savings for the future rather than spending, spending, spending – and has insisted from the get-go on what she refers to as “honest, ethical and transparent governing” – no more closed door meetings and dealings – the big oil companies thought she would be a pushover and have learned better to their chagrin.

She understands the “real people” and the economic issues we all face (Alaskans along with the rest of the country) – she was one of “us” not long ago. Rather than passing useless “laws” or throwing money at pet projects, she (most recently) temporarily suspended the state gas tax (on gasoline at the pumps, fuel oil and natural gas for homes, etc.) and has ordered checks issued to ALL residents of Alaska this fall in an attempt to assist with the burden of high fuel costs for the upcoming winter. I could go on and on, but that’s enough for now <smile>. She isn’t doing these things to be popular – she is doing it because her constituents are HURTING financially and she is in a position to help.

She became Governor of Alaska by defeating the Incumbent Republican Governor and doing it *without* the money or the support of the Republican Party, which was amazing in itself – and she won by a landslide. The “powers that be” at that time totally underestimated Sarah and learned better the hard way. Let’s hope Obama does the same. Sarah has done exactly what she claimed she was going to do when elected and is just as popular today as the day she was elected – perhaps more so since even the Democrats up here seem to like her – she works well with both sides in the Legislature here.

Sarah “belongs” to us (Alaskans) … and although we are going to be terribly sorry to see her leave before she finishes the job she started here (two years ago) straightening out OUR State <grin> … we understand she is needed for a bigger purpose and hopefully her Lt. Governor will be able to fill her shoes here and continue the job.

As for worrying about what would happen if McCain were to die or step down or whatever … here in AK we’ve only been wondering how long we would be able to KEEP Sarah in Alaska and have seen her as our first woman President of the USA from the start. It’s always been a matter of whether she would wait until the end of her TWO terms as Governor (no doubt at ALL that she would be re-elected if she ran for a second term at the end of her current term) … or end up in Washington sooner. She could do the job TODAY.

Personally, I feel a lot better about McCain now that I know he has someone as savvy, as strong, as ethical and as steady as Sarah at his back. She will be an excellent Vice President … and my guess is she will be our US Republican Presidential candidate in four years – AND by then the country will KNOW her – will love and respect her as we do here – and she’ll win by as much of a landslide as she did here in Alaska. I only wonder if McCain has a clue what he is unleashing on the US of A <grin>. She is going to be a fresh wind, but also a strong wind.

Is that enough of an endorsement? If not, I’ll add this … my husband and I have for many years felt the best “vote” was to vote for the lesser of two “evils” and hope they didn’t do too much damage. Two years ago during our State Governor’s race was the first time EVER that we actually asked for not just a little sign to put in our yard showing our support of our candidate (something we’ve never felt the desire to do at all before) – we asked for a full 4′ x 8′ “SARAH PALIN FOR GOVERNOR!” sign and were proud to display it. She hasn’t let us or Alaska down. She will do the same for the USA if given the opportunity.

Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested (and spam those who aren’t!).

In the words of a very good friend I take my oath ” I am First a Christian and that is All that I AM

I AM a Christian...that is All I AM.

I AM a Christian...that is All I AM.

I received this in an e-mail from a close friend…I thought it vital to share…I am all for informed voting…

I was checking on a different rumor and ran across this truth. I pray every Christian considers this before they vote! As for myself, I am first a Christian & that is ALL I AM.

Why I Can’t Vote For Obama – Huntley Brown-Truth!

Summary of the eRumor:
An email from Christian music artist Huntley Brown stating reasons why he won’t vote for Barack Obama.

The Truth:
Huntley Brown is a popular Christian music artist and he told that he wrote this email to some friends who were inquiring if he was going to vote for Senator Barack Obama.

Brown said that he wasn’t asked if he was going to support the GOP candidate, John McCain, and that this email was primarily directed at his opinion of the Democratic candidate.  He also told us that he has problems with both candidates but the differences he has with Senator McCain pale in comparisons with the ones he has with Senator Obama.

Brown did not write this email to influence public opinion nor did he expect his response to be forwarded to others which resulted in wide distribution of his opinion  on the super information highway.  No matter the outcome of this election, Brown told us, that as a Christian, he could be counted to support the President in prayer every day.

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:

Why I Can’t Vote For Obama
By Huntley Brown

Dear Friends,
A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an e-mail with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but its worth repeating..

First I must say who ever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness.

I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means he leads I follow. I can’t dictate the terms he does because he is the leader.

I can’t vote black because I am black I have to vote Christian because that’s who I am. Christian first black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I wont be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I know Jesus and accepted him as Lord and savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King’s words don’t judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don’t know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record.

His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing.
Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason planned parenthood gives him a 100 % ratings.
There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.
There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc loves him.
There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the supreme court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill.
There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.
There is a reason he voted no on partial birth abortion.
There is a reason he voted no on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Lets take a look at the practice he wanted to continue.

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedure
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby’s leg with forceps.
(Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby’s leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby’s entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby’s skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child’s brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him.

There is a reason Obama opposed the parent notification law.

Think about this you can’t give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years.

Obama tells us he has good judgement but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wrights sermons. I wonder why now?

Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28 v 19 – 20 Go and make disciples of all nations. This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you, talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenants that said they have a

1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community .
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.”
Would you support a President who went to a church like that?

Just change the word from white to black and you have the tennants of Obamas former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.

This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can’t be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.

A church can’t have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if its a white church or a black church its still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama’s former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: “Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.

Cone is the man Obama’s mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation?

In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing judgement.

Read 1 Samuel 8. When Israel asked for a king.
First God says 1 Samuel 8 v 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.”

Then God says
1 Samuel 8 v 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king
you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.”
19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”
21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”

Here is what we know for sure

God is not schizophrenic

He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.

Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion.

He might have to nominate three or four supreme court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you.

I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this.I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama’s positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.

Since we know someone’s value system has to be placed on the nation,

1 Whose value system should be placed on the nation.

2 Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Huntley Brown

God’s Letter to His Child…The Book of Colossians

Firmly Rooted in Christ
Firmly Rooted in Christ

Good morning everyone…

I remain, yet, in the Book of Colossians…a paragraph or two a day to meditate upon. Good for the Spirit and keeping the mind in line with the Word.
Colossians 2:6-7

Freedom from Rules and New Life in Christ

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
We must follow Him. As we grow in our Christian walk we must find ourselves more and more unable to live within the current world system. We find peace and solution in Christ, and realize we must model our lives after His. This has serious implications and must be done with the utmost care.

Romans 12:2

2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We begin to have an aversion, a distaste for the behaviors and customs of the world we reside in. So we are called to change our address! We do not belong to this world any longer, we are residents of the Kingdom of God! And our Spirits desire the rest and peace that is in Christ!

How is this done?? Progressively, we transform our minds to the Word of God. We find a desire, even in our weariness, to be with likeminded people. We begin to change our ways, our likes and dislikes, our friends. We find that we even alter the ways in which we mingle with loved family members. We begin to format boundaries that keep the negative things at bay, while we dip our roots deeper in Christ.

In Colossians 2: 7 Paul tells us to let our roots grow down into Him. Drawing up our nourishment from Christ. Growing in Faith, strong and vigorous in the Truth.

Our inner beings desire truth, always truth. This is found only in Christ.

Is it truth you seek…are you demanding truth from those around you? Our human brothers and sisters will always disappoint us in this area, if they are not grounded in the Word. It is not their faults, they do not know the truth yet.

I implore you, to get yourself into the Word of God. Just one book! Read this very short book, written by Paul as a letter to the Church of Colossi. I encourage you to read it slowly, with the knowledge that God has opened up the understanding that this is a letter of encouragement that He meant for us, His children, as a whole and as an individual! Read about how proud and in love with you God is.

Blessings All! Have a Great Day!

Just a quick post before work…

Last night I was reading articles on Helium. They were articles that spoke to the ability to be happy. Some were good, others were alright, yet none spoke the truth. Our happiness can only be found within us when we find God in us.

Those wandering around in the world wondering how to find happiness are circling the confusion fed them. The answer is very simple. We cannot be happy if we do not seek the correct things in life. We can live the illusion of a good life. A life lived well, on the other hand, is submitted to the Creator.

We are children of a King…sons and daughters of  The King…we must seek The King, our Father. Why do we think this urging in us is not fulfilled by the things placed in front of us. Why must we seek a more profound reasoning to our lives.

I give to you my sisters and brothers the answers to all of the questions in life, the meaning of life itself…The Lord Jesus Christ.

Nehemiah 8:10

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

In your weariness today, in your Google Search for Answers  ,refer to the scripture above. His joy is for you and about you. He knows you, that is why you happened this way! Start there in His joy, be strengthened by the knowledge that He Loves You. Yes you! No matter what.

Be Blessed.

The Book of Colossians :) Just one of God affirmations for our journey in Christ…

Colossians 2:4-5
4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

Did you ever notice, that in many of the scriptures that God uses to encourage us, there are often, too, an admonitions to be sure we are no deceived?

Like Eve, the Father warns us here not to be swayed by persuasive words. I find this one personal. He is not warning us against the disparaging things the world says to and about us, or that others say to harm and control us. He is warning against persuasive words, complements of the world and others, that lead us to a place in us that is dripping with pride.

Romans 12: 2

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We must check these persuasive wordsagainst the Word of God. We must give all accolades to the Lord Jesus, it is His power alone that allows us to do good works.

Colossians 2:5b

yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.”

The New Century version says it this way,

” my heart is with you, and I am happy to see your good lives and your strong faith in Christ.”

I have been questioning if I am living correctly, if I seek to fulfill my call correctly. Not so much questioning but feeling as if I am not living a good life in Him.

Graciously, here, this very morning He answers my self-doubt.

I thank the Father that He is faithful to finish the work He has started in me. I thank Him that His Word does not return void. This morning I will stand on these scripture verses and pray this prayer, again and continuously.

I thank You, Father, that You sent Your Word, and that The Word Has healed and delivered me from all destruction. Therefore, I cannot be destroyed.

In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Blessings All.

Christ’s mighty power…

Colossians 1:29

Colossians 1:28-29
“So everywhere we go, we tell everyone about Christ. We warn them and teach them with all the wisdom God has given us, for we want to present them to God, perfect [mature] in their relationship to Christ. I work hard at this, as I depend on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.
So do I ? I mean work really hard at this ?
I’m not always certain I am working as hard as I should. I pray for strength, I stand as firmly as I can, but is it as firmly as I should?
The book of Colossians is a wonderful letter to each of us. It is God speaking to us…here he is telling us to follow the commission. Paul speaks of working diligently at the commission, using the wisdom  God has given them to teach and preach the Gospel.
It is my commission, The Great Commission, to share the Word of God with everyone in our path. Either by carrying ourselves in a manner representative of Christ, or by obeying the Holy Spirit when He rises and gives us urge to pray for someone or witness to them.
So I search myself, down here in the Hopeannfaith’s well. Do I work hard at this? Do I depend upon Christ’s mighty power that works within me? Or do I try these things in my own power?
I will sit here in the well and meditate upon this. Asking the Father to reveal in me how to tap into the Mighty Power of Christ within me. I will seek understanding or revelation…I’d like both.
Blessings All.
