Good morning everyone…
Freedom from Rules and New Life in Christ
6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
We must follow Him. As we grow in our Christian walk we must find ourselves more and more unable to live within the current world system. We find peace and solution in Christ, and realize we must model our lives after His. This has serious implications and must be done with the utmost care.
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
We begin to have an aversion, a distaste for the behaviors and customs of the world we reside in. So we are called to change our address! We do not belong to this world any longer, we are residents of the Kingdom of God! And our Spirits desire the rest and peace that is in Christ!
How is this done?? Progressively, we transform our minds to the Word of God. We find a desire, even in our weariness, to be with likeminded people. We begin to change our ways, our likes and dislikes, our friends. We find that we even alter the ways in which we mingle with loved family members. We begin to format boundaries that keep the negative things at bay, while we dip our roots deeper in Christ.
In Colossians 2: 7 Paul tells us to let our roots grow down into Him. Drawing up our nourishment from Christ. Growing in Faith, strong and vigorous in the Truth.
Our inner beings desire truth, always truth. This is found only in Christ.
Is it truth you seek…are you demanding truth from those around you? Our human brothers and sisters will always disappoint us in this area, if they are not grounded in the Word. It is not their faults, they do not know the truth yet.
I implore you, to get yourself into the Word of God. Just one book! Read this very short book, written by Paul as a letter to the Church of Colossi. I encourage you to read it slowly, with the knowledge that God has opened up the understanding that this is a letter of encouragement that He meant for us, His children, as a whole and as an individual! Read about how proud and in love with you God is.
Blessings All! Have a Great Day!
