God’s Open Heaven in My Human Understanding

is very limited.

I read an article about how to find God. Like all intellectual Christians ( I’m assuming the author was Christian) the first comment was “God is not lost, we are…” Common rule of thumb. Yet it fit in with the theme of my week.

God, knowing where He is and where I am, and yes! where you are. Is always there. My unpleasant existance this past week, between illness, discomfort, isolation and ending in a deep two day depression was ” Me Lost”. I realize what the problem was, yet it is still so vast in my head that my humanity is struggling to put it into a understandable format. God will have to do that, and I know that He will.

Basically, even before the end of ’08, we have been walking under an ‘Open Heaven’. You have too, if heaven is open, it is open to all.

Let me clarify an open heaven, in my understanding:

God’s kids (ALL of Us), have received a revelation. I know my family and church, for the most part have, and from devotionals to broadcast ministries, I find that most of the kids are in the same place.

Walking under an ‘ Open Heaven’ simply relates to walking in the full blessings and promises of God. And we are. This week proves it to me. I was in a bad place and God blessed me anyway.

Depression is anger and fear turned inward! That is how the world defines it…that is what it is…depression is a condition of this world.

Depression is not faith. It is not trusting God. Therefore it is indulging in sin. Depression is an inward look at  ‘poor Andrea’. If I am looking inward, I cannot LOOK UP, nor can I be a servant of the LORD. If I am staring in the mirror of my sin, I cannot be there to serve my fellows. I am of no use to the kingdom when focused upon myself.

Yet there I was, in depression, in sin…in disobedience to my Father! Don’t know why, I believe I know how…yet it remains.

God is faithful though! LOVE NEVER FAILS!  That is to say, God’s love never fails!

As I stood on the edge of the swirling vortex of a deeper depression, God reached down and grabbed me. Standing me on firmer ground. Even as I looked up and realized what He was doing, even as I heard His voice and responded in my numbness, I gazed over my stubborn shoulder into the mezmorizing vortex that I am so familiar with, as if thinking about which choice would be the better choice.

Still,  His love for me overrode my sin and He blessed me. As if to say look, here is proof that I AM bigger than your circumstances. That since you have diligently obeyed, since even in your disobedience and self absorbtion you, my girl, have spoken my Word into your pain, I AM here to rescue you, again! And Always!

I do not deserve this type of love.

The world would have you believe that I am not responsible for my condition. That my affliction, is many years of unspeakable things inflicted upon a soul. That I have every right to feel the things that I do. That I have the right to view things the way that I do, sometimes. That when I walk among them, as if I belong, that I should be given some kind of  break, because it was not my fault, it was not my doing, I am not responsible. The world would have you, would have me…has actually had me, believe that I have a right.

Yet, I do not have a right ! I know a truth. A Truth that cannot be unknown.

That God loves me, no matter what I do or where I am. That the creator of this universe, of all that we can fathom and more Loves Me!

So what right do I have to wallow in the world’s understanding of my condition? When I could be telling them the condition of God’s Love.

NONE.

Even as I wriggle about in this skin of mine, a home of discomfort and heaviness. I wonder how I could choose to wallow in the black hole of self indulgence over the Love of my Father God. How does, could, my human existance ever feel better than God’s love?!

The thought that I could chose anything other than God’s love is foreign and even painful. Yet, without the Word I will forget the feeling of unconditional love as if it were the aroma of lilac on a spring breeze. Just a beautiful thought for a moment in a world that is primarily at odds with love and God and joy. Without constant indulgence in the Word of God, I will choose my nature in place of my Father.

We were thrown so very far from the Truth of our Nature when sin entered. So very far from what is a fleeting memory here in our human condition.  Is it any wonder that the world cannot fathom.

Oh how I beg just to Thank God at His feet that He should allow me to know who I truly am! I am humbled by the magnitude of my truth!

What I mean to share with you today, besides the ramblings of the Daughter of the King….is this:

To walk beneath this Open Heaven with me there is only one thing you must do. It is really quite complex in it’s simplicity. Complex because at the end of the day and every moment inbetween you, I, will struggle with the thing, we will fight to understand, because it is just so unfathonable.

All we must do is:…..believe…

                                                                …just believe………….Yes! that is all…………

BELIEVE…..B….E….L….I….E….V….E……believe that God love you…me…all of us.

Want something to hang onto while you float in this sea of wonder? Okay …

Mark 11:24

24 Therefore, I tell you, all the things you pray  and ask for  —believe that you have received  them, and you will have them.

There you have it. The Truth of it all. Simply believe…

Blessings!

When God rewards faithfulness with His faithfulness!

This mornings post was about my feelings of depression. To be quite honest I continue to “feel” much the same way. Not quite myself, under the weather, out of sorts….depressed. I chose to be as positive as I could possibly pull off at all costs. I did so, so.

First thing this morning I answered a call from a woman who identified herself as a representative of a company whose equipment we no-longer use, have not used in over a year. She, like many debtor representatives identified herself in a very familiar manner and asked to speak to Pastor by name. She then identified herself as a “parishioner” with her name. I simply stated that I did not recognize her name and she flipped!

She called me rude and abrupt and wanted to know if I treated all parishioners in that manner. When I apologized that I had offended her she just kept yelling and stated she would speak to “Pastor —–” on the weekend, that she definitely wanted him to know about me…” I put her on hold to put her in touch with the other Pastor and she hung up.

That is how I started my day! This was apparently just another “collection” tactic. The familiarity trick. After speaking to the other Pastor I went back to my day…quietly, sure things were going to remain basically the same.

Midday Pastor brought in the items to be mailed today. In it was a paycheck for me. I have not received a paycheck in four months. I agreed to not take a check while the church finances were tight.

God blessed me! He blessed me while I was down!

and then….He did it again!

When I got home there was mail from the States Taxation Department. Every year we receive one of these to tell us that they had taken it for child support arrears. The child they keep taking the money for is currently 27 years old!! We have been fighting this for a very long time.

I have prayed and prayed for this particular theft be paid back  7 fold, like the scripture promises. For the first time in many, many years we have lost our state taxes to another state.

Even in the depths of depression, He blesses me!

This morning in my vortex I read this devotional…a truth I firmly believe in for this year! I have felt this coming about for months. My husband and I and much or all of our church have done the necessary things corporately and individually that would cause this thing to occur. That is aside from the Grace of God itself.

When Heavens Open

Yesterday in my prayer time, I kept ‘seeing’ something in my spirit.  Something I had never seen before.  It was only because I had a conversation with a friend earlier in the week that I knew what it was.  I believe it was a portal, an open window in the heavens.

I pondered this for several hours and waited until I was sure of what I was seeing and that I had seen it several times before I proceeded.  Once I was certain, I began to study the subject and was surprised at some of the truths of an open heaven.  Allow me to share some points with you today.

  • It is an opening in the heavens that allows angels to come and go without demonic interference
  • They were put in place to allow things to be delivered here on earth, things that are invisible – you know, those things we are praying for and calling forth
  • Portals have seasons to open and be traveled
  • The prophetic, or a declaring is needed to initiate and accomplish what God is wanting to do while these ‘windows of heaven’ are open
  • They are places of release for blessings, prosperity, happiness and provision
  • Once things are released to God’s people through open heavens it is a sign of Gods approval and His covenant provision
  • It connects the earth to God’s storehouse or treasures in the heavenlies

Let me also give you some scriptures to study on this subject.  It was quite interesting.

Deuteronomy 28:12
Acts 7:56
Malachi 3:11
Psalm 78:23
John 1:51
Ezek. 1:1
Luke 3:21
Acts 10:11
Revelations 4:1
Revelations 19:11

2 Chronicles tells us that God has closed the heavens but it also tells us how to live under an open heaven.  Humble ourselves, Pray, Seek His Face, Turn from our Wicked Ways and the heavens will once again be open over us.

The more I studied, the more interested I was.  I believe that if we obey the word of God and do what is right in His sight, do things His way that we can daily live under an open heaven.

I also believe that there are seasons and times (according to the word of God) where HE opens the heavens – gives us an open window or door into His storehouse and in those times we can go into the realm of the spirit through prayer and take what we need.  How does that work?

The Bible says that angels ascend and descend.  They literally take our words, that line up with the word of God and ascend to the storehouse of God and descend with the provision that word requires to manifest.  If you recall, it requires a prophetic declaration, and you are the prophet of your own life.

I know the Lord showed me an opening in the heavens on Monday – I don’t know how long it will remain open.  But I do know this, as it was open, I took your prayer request before the Lord and spiritually sent them up and requested a manifestation of your promises.  As I said yesterday, I will teach truth until all our readers are walking in the fullness of God’s promises.  And I will continue to take your request to the Lord.

I expect, fully expect to see some dramatic changes – I don’t think the heavens can be open without seeing changes – at least I can’t find one place in the Bible where the heavens opened and nothing happened.

As I said, I don’t know how long they will remain open but I am praying they remain open until we see the full manifestation of His covenant promises in our lives.

I know many of you are weary – but don’t stop believing.  God is hearing our prayers and we know if He hears us then we have what we say.  If you listen carefully, you can hear things shifting in the spirit – change is coming.  As sure as Spring is around the corner – change is upon us.  Don’t miss the timing of the Lord.  Tell Him today that you don’t want to miss one thing – you want to be right in the middle of all He is doing.  Then listen…I hear the sound…of an abundance of rain…coming from open heavens…don’t you hear it?

Teaching on Giving

Ranch Couple

Several months ago, I was praying about all the financial needs we get prayer requests for.  I ask God to reveal some things to me so that our readers would begin to walk in the abundance of God.  He instructed me to teach on giving and/or  tithing once a week.  I began to do that.  If that is offensive to you, I simply can’t apologize for obeying God.  God wants His people to walk in abundance and come out of lack – and I will continue to teach on these subjects until He tells me to stop.  It’s time we walk out of lack and we can only do that when we do things Gods way.  I pray you are learning to walk in what God has for your finacially – I am seeing increase in many of our partners lives and I praise God for that.  We will continue to stand with you until we see ALL our readers enjoying financial abundance.

Depression…

The last devotional I remember reading, I mean really remember, was February17th’s the Initiative against Depression! I read others, however I don’t remember them much. I may have had a moment of revelation~ but is it revelation when it is truly only a moment?

In my written journal ~ it’s supposed to be 3 pages each morning ~ yet I can only manage 1 page~ I have found that I am depressed. And in my depression, is it a surprise that I do not care?

“Arise and eat”… 1 Kings 19:5

I believe, no, I am sure, that one week ago this morning I wrote a whole inspirational post inregard to this devotional, on my other blog. So how did I get there from here?

I spent the rest of the week in bed, sick. For me it instilled the depression I was attempting to avoid. I guess the blah feeling was the beginning of the cold I had contracted. By Thursday of last week I was in bed feeling ravaged. I only left the house for church reasons the rest of the week, until right now…

So how do I feel today?….

“I don’t want to” is the theme. I don’t want to:  be awake. go to work. talk to anyone. do anything!

Ever notice how depression is all about the “I” in things? This feels very deep and foreboding. Dark and brooding…anger? Is it anger? If it is I cannot put my finger on what exactly I might be angry about just now, or in the last week. I mean aside from everyday frustrations.

So “Arise and eat”, Chambers says to do the ordinary things, until the Spirit rises and directs me further. His devotional says things, at times, that God has clarified for the Church since Chamber’s time.

Basically the devotional says that if we were not able to be depressed there would be no “capacity” for exaltation. Right now the church is teaching us that God never intended or brings on “depression” or any negative thing. And the Word of God clearly states the same. However, there is the whole Adam and Eve thing and allowing these things to exist. We brought them to the garden and now they exist…God did not enact them, but He did create all things, all concepts…our ability to think and reason these things.

Now, I do not believe that my being depressed is in anyway beneficial, at all. If I do not find my way out of this it will only deepen. Into what I fear to even think about the possibilities. These things tend towards prevelence in my family.

So the devotional says to wait on the Holy Spirit to guide me to the common things in my life, so that I might find God in them. “Arise and eat”.

So I will get up…I will read the Word, not just my devotionals, not just my memory verses…I will choose a book and I will read it, I will “eat” it. I will find in it the ordinary things God expects of me so that I may find my way out of this vortex I have found myself in…

I will Look UP…for my help.

Looking UP...

Looking UP...

Blessings!

I know I need them, so I extend them.

May the sun warm your skin.

May a touch warm your heart.

May a word spark a memory.

May your Spirit soar to God.

Have a Wonderful Day my friends.

Blessings.

In Transition…A Becoming

I’ve decided to wear the armor of the Proverbs Woman. Notice please, that I did not limit this to the Proverbs 31 Woman.

While she is a clear and complicated portrait of a Godly woman, a Proverbs Woman  has many more facets. Explained in more detail, throughout the book of Proverbs! As if  the  discription  of her, in chapter 31, is not enough to achieve!

Yet, if it were not achievable, God would not have set her portrait where He did.  He would not have us desire something outside of our reach. Therefore, difficult as it may seem. Becoming a Proverbs Woman will prove to be an achievement that is closer than she appears in the rear view mirror of our lives!

I recently read a devotional that discussed the concept of wearing someone else’s armor. You know what I mean. A friend gives you advise as to how you should be praying. Or you think the way you pray in tongues is not as effective as that really spiritual lady you always see in prayer, whenever you see her. You somehow get the idea that there something lacking in how you pray. Or you lack something…

Proverbs Woman Armor

Proverbs Woman Armor

…because you don’t feel the Spirit guiding you to intercede, or prophesy or whatever. When these doubts within ourselves begin we often decided to try on the armor of another color or design. Like in 1 Samuel when David was going to fight the Philistine Goliath.

1 Samuel 17: 38-40

38 Then Saul had his own military clothes put on David. He put a bronze helmet on David’s head and had him put on armor. 39 David strapped his sword on over the military clothes and tried to walk, but he was not used to them. “I can’t walk in these,” David said to Saul, “I’m not used to them.” So David took them off. 40 Instead, he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the wadi and put them in the pouch, in his shepherd’s bag. Then, with his sling in his hand, he approached the Philistine.

When we attempt to perform our calling in, or we “try on” another calling it does not fit. We are uncomfortable, the armor of another does not fit. Like David we cannot move with the ease we have in our own armor. This is one of those times we cannot “be moved by what we hear”!

Our calling is something God has given us. Listening to ourselves or anothers ideas as to how to improve something God has provided seems silly when you think about it. However it is much more damaging, at times, than just silly can be on it’s on.

However, there are clear instructions as to how every woman should be, even how every man should be. But we are discussing us ladies here.

The Proverbs 31 Woman is a dynamic woman who bases her life on service. Service to her God, to her husband and to her fellows, she even serves her servants meals. Having been brought up in today’s society, I for one could not even picture myself  “trying on” this role. Ask me how amazed I have become with the realization that I now desire  to conduct myself in this portrait. Please know that this woman is not anywhere near who I am right now! Yet, I find myself in Proverbs looking for direction.

I had been diligently and purposely holding my tongue. Mind you I do not believe that I was doing all that well, and I was very frustrated. Our Wednesday night Praise and Prayer service brought forth a dynamic message from our Pastor Carol. She began it by saying that  ” we do not have the right to say anything, anyway we want to our friends and family. Just because we have that familiarity.” She defined this as judgement and causing one another to feel judged. Causing the person we “gave our advice” or “our opinion” to, to be quiet. We are quieting someone else’s spirit. My thought was ” man what is the penalty for that one!”

I had been feeling judged by a very close friend. However, when that happens, God had revealed, I begin to judge others! Creating the vicious circle that the enemy counts on. I was not walking in my calling, because someone had made me feel “less than”, ultimately causing me to focus on someone I felt was “worse” than I.  Causing me to judge them, causing them to…and now the enemy no longer has to focus on this circle because we are no longer wearing our armor, or focusing on the battle or even the Kingdom at that point!

The judgement I felt, from my friend, caused me to seek God. I am getting much better at this. I looked up in my pain and feelings of rejection to seek my help. I can’t say that I didn’t indulge in judging someone else, however it did shorten that cycle.

So while I have my own armor of Worship, of Praise, for battle, the Proverbs Woman’s armor is like the lining of that call. I first must slide on that slip, as close and as sensuous as a second skin. Then layer over “her” my calling, and then the shield, breastplate, belt, the helmet, shoes and sword. Now, I am in my armor, ready for my battle. I can move with ease and agility, speaking the Word of God and wielding the Sword of Truth with the precision God intended.

All of this armor fits better on us women, however, when we first put on the Proverbs Woman. This is wear I started: (from the message on that Wednesday evening service). She also used Hebrews 10:22-25, but that is another post.

Proverbs 15: 1-5

1 A gentle answer turns away anger
but a harsh word stirs up wrath.     2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge attractive,
but the mouth of fools blurts out foolishness.

3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere,
observing the wicked and the good.

4 The tongue that heals is a tree of life
but a devious tongue  breaks the spirit.

    5 A fool despises his father’s instruction,
but a person who heeds correction is sensible

I have highlighted the parts of the verse that are my focus. I am particularly enamored with 4a ~ the tongue that heals…is a tree of life~ this stirs my spirit! Amazing sensation!

While we focus on the Love Challenge over on Hopeannfaith’s Hope Chest, I believe this is where I begin to learn to love without judgement.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

4 Love is patient;  love is kind. Love does not envy;

    is not boastful; is not conceited;

    5 does not act improperly; is not selfish;

    is not provoked;  does not keep a record of wrongs;

    6 finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth;

7 bears all things, believes all things,

hopes all things, endures  all things.

    8 Love never ends.

Blessings Everyone and Happy Valentines Day! Love one another well today!

Food on Friday: “LET’S GO BANANAS!!”

Here is an e-mail I received earlier in the week. I diligently saved it for my Food on Friday Post, over on Ann Kroeker’s blog. I went into my e-mail this morning, and it was gone!!! I had two, and they were both gone, not in any friend or family file, and the trash…Not there! I was really disappointed!

Then  EPIPHANY!!

I googled the e-mail. Alas, all I found was the Truth or Fiction post on the e-mail. Basically it said: ” Many of the statements in the email are made without any substantiation.”

However, as a wife and mother, I have found over the many years, that certain foods appear to have beneficial properties that the “professionals” will not sign off on. Yet we seem to see and even feel the positive results of those foods. The bible does tell us that all food is clean:

Romans 14:19-21 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

19 So then, we must pursue what promotes peace  and what builds up one another.  20 Do not tear down God’s work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong for a man to cause stumbling by what he eats.  21 It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble.

In the end I had to e-mail my Pastor and son in hopes that someone would re-e-mail it to me…both did at the same time! 😉

Once again, I have 2!  Now I will give you one!  I encourage you to check out any of the information or suggestions in this post. I do not want to have anyone “stumble” so to speak. Enjoy the Bananas, I do.

 “LET’S GO BANANAS!!”

Who knew???
A professor for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression “going bananas” is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.

After reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.

But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills – eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school (England) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight
and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe…polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!
