The New Man Report: 'Sports Illustrated' Huddles With Tim Tebow for Faith-Focused Article

Just wanted to share a really good article.

The New Man Report: ‘Sports Illustrated’ Huddles With Tim Tebow for Faith-Focused Article.

MMM Confessions! :)

Hello Fellow Mega Memory Month friends. Hopeannfaith here to confess that she has not been able to spend as much time as needed to memorize the whole of Isaiah 55 , as she would have liked.

July has been a mega month at home and at work.  :/   This is not a comlaint, not at all.

Being the church secretary I can tell you that busy means the Fire of God. The Word and activity that is flowing at RLFC is just, that the very Fire of God! We spent the beginning of the month preparing for a conference we attend each year. And although much of what I personally handled last year was not a burden for me this year, the piece I am responsible for had it’s issues.

The result is more work unto the Lord.

I am at the conference now. I can attest that I am enjoying it so far. Again, the Word flowing is simply God ordained and is speaking to my life. God has been awesome to me. The blessings are abounding and the joy it has brought is hard to put to words. But there will be pictures over on Hopeannfaith’s Hope Chest (my photography blog!).

~~~~~The conference got very busy…as refreshing as it is to attend these conferences, and stay in a hotel! It remains work much of the time. Therefore I am finishing this blog post at home.
 Home is good and busy as well.   A few days before we left for the FCM International Conference on Prevailing Faith in Challenging Times ~ Imminent Breakthroughs, I adopted a 5 year old Red Sable Minature Dachshund. She came from a home that did not like her. Although we do not believe she was abused, the family just could not integrate her into it. Therefore my sweet brandy “Honey” has behavioral issues. She is gaining much ground with acceptance in our home. I know she will do well.
All that said, I have not put the time necessary into memorizing all of my Isaiah 55. I have however spent time with it…it just is not sticking! Yet! I intend to keep with it after the end of the month. I am determined to understand completely, this chapter that invites all of us back to the Father for reconciliation. So I believe I may have some of the first 3 verses in memory, let us see  :/   …
Isaiah 55:1-3
1.Come all you  everyone who are is thirsty, come to the waters; and all you without money, come buy, and eat drink Come, buy milk and wine, with no without money, at no and without cost! at all.
2. Why do you spend money on what is not food; and your wages on what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to m  Me, and eat what is good and you will enjoy the choicest of  foods.
3. Pay attention to Me and come to Me; so that you will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the promises assured to David.
Well I guess I have some of it! Like I said I intend to keep at it.
I am very impressed with those of you who had multiple memorization goals!
I don’t know what I have planned for the end of the week…maybe an appropriate photo with the 3 verses!  I am enamored with these three verses! Satisfaction without cost, the choicest of foods (the Word of God), everlasting life and a covenant and the promises of God. Not just any promises either, but those reserved for King David! A man after God’s own heart….Oh how  He Loves Us.
That reminds me of a wonderful song sung, at the conference, by the Youth Worship Team from Faith Outreach Church in Orlando, Florida! Here is a video of the original singer Kim Walker:
I hope you enjoy it.
So that is it my friends! My month got away from me, like much of the summer did, with all that has occurred!  Such is life, and what a wonderful life God has given me!
many, Many, MANY Blessings to all of you!
No One Will Convince Me That MY GOD IS ANYTHING BUT FAITHFUL! ~ Our Testamony!
Cotton Candy Clouds...No Rain in Sight!
Cotton Candy Clouds...No Rain in Sight!
My husband and I have been standing on faith in all areas of our lives for many years now! Back and forth we go, encouraging each other and praying in unity, as best a couple who pray differently can.
And God has honored our diligence many times…seriously. Yet life continues to move forward.
God has brought back to me, the last few weeks, a beautiful scripture that will just put the most worried heart at rest. That is if one choses to let it be revealed to them…
Psalm 138:8
8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
This just warms all of my heart, with a rise of the Holy Spirit within me, when I read it! Particularly on a day like today.
A Hutchinson Testamony!
We have owned our house for 15 years. After the purchase we realized that renovation was going to be a life long task. The age of the house alone, along with the camoflaged disrepair, has become a source of ignored disappointment and many times discouragement.
Many have heard, and countless have repeated, my sanguine telling of the fires and the floods at 19 Chapel!
When the house was purchased Don loved it…and he still does! This was revealed to me when I became vocal about my willingness to buy a home that would be easier to deal with. And at first I was not willing.
You see, this was one of my husbands deep dreams and desires, to be a homeowner. And for me, it fulfilled a real need for a home of my own that I could not be removed from or kicked out from. Quickly, this was a deep seeded desire for security that began in childhood and compounded into my adulthood.
Suffice it to say, that at the beginning, we were in love with they house and the fact that we had a home. We had yet to encounter God, that would come 8 years later.
Now it is 9 years from the 8th year encounter with God! And God is faithfully answering prayers and providing security and showing favor to us, in all areas of our lives!
I have to take a moment to give God all the Honor and Glory for all He has done in our lives! Praise God!
Today; July 20, 2009 with many financial situations looming ahead of us God has once again put My Godly husband and I to awe and shock!!!!!!!! ( I wish I had control over the fonts right now!)
Don came home from work at lunch time today…which he never and which he knows drives me nuts and him to laughing. because my first reaction is concern and then scolding…to get a package shipped for e-bay.
While we were filling out labels and I was telling him I didn’t want to go to the post office he sat down and said, very seriously…
” I need to discuss something with you, and God. And, I need you two to stop ganging up on me!”
My response was ” What…..with that whine sound we do when we haven’t done anything of late!”
He went on, “You know what you said when I went to paint the older couples house this Saturday with Men’s Fellowship?”
I admit I knew something big was coming…and began to smile! “Yeah” I said.
Well, with a huge grin and clenched hands ( the opitomy of frustration resulting from joy.) he tells me…
That his boss’ son, a contractor, is coming to measure out the roof (that has desperately needed a total tear down for years!) and roofing friends of his will be doing the roof for “cost” and Don’s boss is paying for it, and we will pay it off in installments!
Think of this!!!!!!!!!!!!
This job was an impossiblity in our lives, our finances!!!! A SERIOUS IMPOSSIBLITY !!!!
I cannot even fathom a more perfect picture for the following promise, than my new roof!!
Matthew 19:26
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
In the natural it appeared that we would be, literally, weathering another winter with a poor roof….and wammo God steps in and fulfills His Promise!
Now this is not an on time God…
This is a loving God who saw fit to Perfect a serious concern in His children’s lives and tell them about it before the winter weather began…
are you listening…not just before the rain….not in the rain….but before the snow…
On a beautiful, sunny, summer July day! When our concerns were on other things and not my leaking roof. On a glorious day with billowing white cotton candy clouds, on the canvas of a clear blue sky…
Not a thought of a raindrop in sight!
My God put a couple’s heart at ease on a beautiful summer day! Man! He loves us!!!!
There are no words to express this joy! I’ll just have to take a photo of the sky!!!
Is what you are facing looking impossible? Are your concerns something that, in the natural, look like they cannot be perfected?
We are here to tell you, in no uncertainty, that if God does these things for us, the Hutchinsons, He will do them for you too.
Just as big, just as bold, just as amazing!
Blessings my friends!
…many, Many, MANY BLESSINGS!
Confidence: What do I have confidence in?
Where My Confidence Is...
Where My Confidence Is...
A profound question asked in our midweek service at RLFC, this evening. We have been sitting under amazing teachings concerning instruction on how to  hear the voice of God.
It is our responsibility to conduct ourselves and our lives in a manner by which we will be able to hear God’s voice.  Tonight came the revelation, something I had a concept of, that came together and whole this evening, that if one lives there lives according to this world’s system we will have difficulty, even an inability to hear our heavenly Father’s voice.
The Word of God says in
John 15:19b  “Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world”   and in…
Romans 8:29-30  ” For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.  Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
Tonights message focused on how we react in the trials of our lives. We often wonder where God has gone when the things in our lives have gone haywire. The real quandry is where are we in these situations? In my last post I referred to this as well…
1 Kings 19:11-13
 God’s Revelation to Elijah
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
You see God is not in the winds, earthquakes or the fires of our lives…He is by our sides when those things occur. And after the storm quiets and we are standing in the aftermath of our crisis, we hear ….suddenly….” my child, what are you doing here?”
You may ask, why does He ask what I am doing in this situation???  The answer is in the scripture passages…He is not in the circumstance, and He doesn’t expect us to be! We are the children of the Most High, we are not supposed to be in the midst of chaos.
The point being made is the same. As children of God we do not live according to the world’s system. We function, are expected to function, according to God’s Kingdom’s system. And how we function in our lives speaks to which system we have put our trust, our confidence in.
To remain in the Kingdom system we must remain in Faith. To remain in faith we must remain in the Word. And the Word, well that is God’s primary voice in most of our lives. The Living Word…
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
It will move our situations in the correct direction. The direction of God’s will rather than that of the world’s system.
Psalm 29:4 “the voice of the LORD in power, the voice of the LORD in splendor.”
1 Corinthians 2:4 “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,”
All of these are saying the same thing. Simply that God’s Word is alive and has power. They clearly state the the Word, Speech and Preaching are not of human persuasions…but are of Spirit and of Power. God’s Word will guide us in all areas toward what God has for us.
Our responsibility is clear. And it is our responsibility. It is to stayed focused on what the Word of God tells us to do in every single, solitary situation of our lives. No one thing  goes unseen by the eyes of our Creator. Don’t fool yourself. Even the most dedicated atheist’s life is wide open for the Father to see, and He does.  You may ask why God would focus on an atheist. Well that to is clearly explained in one of the most dearly loved scriptures. So well known that most atheists can recite it.
John 3:16-17 ” For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
Why God focuses on everyone, even the atheist, is stated and proved in the first sentence. It is explained to completion in the whole scripture within verses 16-21. Only Father God knows when His kids are coming home. Until then he monitors their progress. I know He did it for me, trust me, and for you as well, why not His unbelieving kids? Was there not a time when each of us did not believe.
Infact is this not really about the fact that even the diligent Christian is challenged in our believing, our faith, each and every day? Each and everyday, in our own skins and minds, not to mention by those around us?
So one must make a choice.
Faith = Trusting God = Trusting in who we are told  we are in Christ = Knowing who we are in Christ Jesus…What have you put your confidence in?
 If you are looking at the world view of life…where is your confidence?
If you are frightened and stressed about your finances and health…where is your confidence?
The bible says that we cannot add one cubit to our lives worrying. Whether the world or your experience requires you to look at the “reality” of your situation or you simply do not know how to look away, I have a challenge for you.
Listen for God. Really, be still and read His Word, with the expectation of hearing from Him. You see, God is right where He has alway been, just as I said in the last post I shared here. It is where you are that is the issue.
If in your situation you replace anger, fear and worry with reading the Word of God you will find that you begin to feel and think better. You, inately, will begin to see the situation differently. You will even realize a solution. Even if that solution is to leave it with God.
At tonights service the Pastor tapped her bible firmly and stated ” This is my stimulus package and this package does not….” and her friend in the congregation finished it…”have to be payed back!”
An amazing concept. It was also said by Pastor, sharing another friend’s quote…
“You are either standing in faith and moving forward or you are losing ground!”
both are profound thoughts.
God is a God of order. The Word says that God needs to be first in our lives for everything to be in order.
” Elijah, what are you doing here?”  God is asking us this question. We were chosen by God, no differently than Elijah!
What are we doing here?  So I ask you to consider; What do you have your confidence in? The Word of God and the Kingdom or the world system.
Are you listening for God’s voice tonight? Come on, try it! Really, what can it hurt?
Hearing God’s Voice…I am sensing a theme here…
Hearing the Voice of God...
Hearing the Voice of God…
This subject seems to be a theme that God would have us pay attention to…In devotionals, blogs and…
The Wednesday services at my church have been on Hearing the Voice of God….teachings on how this is done. You see God speaks to each of us, all of the time. Whispering in the “still small voice” described in the scriptures. Most of us hear him, in one manner or another, however it gets lost in the din of distractions in some of our lives. Or we dismiss it as crazy thoughts,or think that it is our own conscious speaking.  And some simply no longer hear it at all.
Still…God continually speaks to His creations, His children.
Romans 10:17 says that, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
What does that mean, though?
God speaks to us by His Word. As most Christians know, and now I am going to let those who may see themselves as non-believers know, the Word of God is the Bible, as well as Jesus, Himself. I would imagine, no…I know, it also means God’s literal voice.
How do I know, because His Sheep know His voice! John 10:3-4 “My sheep hear my voice and they follow Me.” And I am one of His sheep…and I have known His voice, as different from all others, for the last nine years. Probably more, as the first time I knowledgeably heard God’s voice it sounded familiar. Like a voice in a crowd that pulls at one’s heart, a comforting voice one has not heard clearly in many years.
Having awesome spiritual parents, our Pastors, I have learned that primarily God speaks to us with the bible. Each Sunday, and for the purposed Christian, mid-week services, we hear the Word of God from the pulpit. A very human person is infilled with the Holy Spirit and compelled, to preach, teach or a combination of the two, to a room full of thirsty and hungry sheep, with the Word. Translating between the Gospels, Old Testament and the Holy Spirit, Himself, what it is God is feeding His sheep.
The issue is, are we listening? What should one listen for?
When listening to a sermon or message from God, we sense God’s direction personally. Next Sunday look around you…there are those shaking their heads in agreement, maybe even giving an excited AMEN. Then there are those who may be looking at their feet or sitting stoically with arms crossed. Honestly, we all exhibited these behaviors in church, at one time or another. If we are listening for the voice of God, and agree to hear Him.
I recently read a blog of a fellow Helium writer. I am drawn to her as we have similar issues in our lives with our boys. Her last blog post was titled, Why Doesn’t God Talk to Me?, a question many ask themselves, others and to the heavens. After reading her process from the question to the answer I was comforted that God had used her husband to reveal His manner of speaking to them, at this time.
There was a time when I believed I heard God audibly because I was stubborn and He was forced to be verbally firm with me, that was for that period of time in my life. The belief at the time helped me to soften my resolve and listen more closely for His voice. And I did continually hear that still small voice saying “Be still and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10a For one of His more stubborn sheep that was a frustrating passage! Yet God was faithful and repeated it over and over again, in His voice, by His Word and in many messages I was to hear from the pulpit to home group meetings, for months…until I softened! And soften I did, by His grace alone. On my own I would never have listened.   :/
Faith comes when God speaks to you personally…are you listening?
Psalm 29:4 says, “The voice of the LORD is powerful;The voice of the LORD is full of majesty”.
John 5 states “I do nothing of my own, but what I hear from the Father.”
Hearing the voice of God is a lifestyle…that begins in prayer, with meditation and study of His Word. In all of this we must ask to have the ability to hear the Word. Asking the Holy Spirit for enlightenment opens the Word of God to our ears, to hear…Asking the Holy Spirit to hear God’s voice in the sermons that He has men give will also bring His voice to you.
In God’s Word the word light speaks to Hope and the word voice speaks to Substance.
 Proverbs 13:12a says,” Hope deferred makes the heart sick,”
If all we ever recieve from the Word of God, whether it be what we read or what is given us from the pulpit, is the Light or the Hope in the Word, we will not recieve the substance we are believing God for. What I mean is as humans we are able to receive a sense of hope from an inspirational passage or sermon, but we need Faith, a true belief of receiving to actually receive the substance contained within the very message that sparked hope. If we do not diligently seek the substance, Faith, we will become sick inside, discouraged.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that Faith is the substance of things Hoped for.
We must live a life of prayer and time with the LORD to get the substance. Prayer is time with God, it’s an exchange between the child and the parent. Like my friend’s blog entry, it was an exchange. We are allowed to ask God about things that perplex us…it is no different to ask Him why He doesn’t talk to us than to ask Him how to hear Him. Both questions lead to the same answer from God…that still small voice…
1 Kings 19:11-13
 God’s Revelation to Elijah
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
You see God is not in the winds, earthquakes or the fires of our lives…He is by our sides when those things occur. And after the storm quiets and we are standing in the aftermath of our crisis, we hear ….suddenly….” my child, what are you doing here?”
You may ask, why does He ask what I am doing in this situation???  The answer is in the scripture passages…He is not in the circumstance, and He doesn’t expect us to be! We are the children of the Most High, we are not supposed to be in the midst of chaos.
We are responsible for our own lifestyle changes and the results we get from these changes. We must seek and listen for His voice. The Substance is what God is saying to you, personally, when you spend time in His Word, in prayer and in His house.
Some tips to assist with learning to hear the Voice of God:
first…what was the last thing you believe God spoke to you to do? Whether it was yesterday or five years ago, go back to that instruction and do it. It will help you to get back to the Voice of God.
God speaks to us, individually, specifically through the sermons we hear from the pulpit.
*Write down what God instructs during these sermons.
*Lay hands on your ears and ask for spiritual hearing, before the sermon.
** remember we were made to hear God’s voice. John 10:3-4…If you have the desire to hear from God you are His sheep…Proverbs 13:12b, ” But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
** Remember this…His sent ones hear Him.
Are you listening…
Isaiah 55 ~ Recalling the Invitiation of God
The Book of Isaiah was Prophesy as most will know.
To quote the NKJ Study Bible:
“In an extraordinary vision of the heavenly court, God Himself called Isaiah to be a messenger to his people.”
The calling was glorious and challenging. Isaiah was charged with confronting the people of Judah with the truth! Even while warning the wicked of a tragic fate, he encourage the repetitent and sorrowing to place their hope in God! Even though the nation would face discipline, salvation would come!
Isaiah means: ” the Lord saves”
Isaiah 55 is an invitation to Abundant Life.
It is God, a loving Father, speaking to His children to return. There are 2 invitations in the beginning of Isaiah 55…to come to the Lord and participate in the blessings of David. The Davidic kingdom. And to seek the Lord and receive the pardon of sin. Because God’s grace is unfathomable the promise is guaranteed.
I chose to memorize Isaiah 55 for two reasons.
I am in a season in my life where I desire only the Word of God in reference to any area of my life.  I have been blessed with the ability to audibly hear God’s voice, and like the scripture say…His sheep will hear His voice. This is one way I know He loves me special! I can hear Him! I used to think it was because I was so very stubborn, but now, in my spirit, I know it is because my life has been such that I was graced with this lovely and very loving gift.
Secondly, when our associate Pastor began her series on Hearing the Voice of God; the first few passages of this chapter were referred to as God speaking! That was on July 1st…and I had decided to spend the week reading the passages that she had used for a foundation for these messages. So there it was, God’s voice again, choosing what I would spend the month doing in His word.
I can only imagine what I will gain in this study and memorization. I am quite excited about it! So as I ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten me while I listen to God speak I expect the heavens to impart peace and understanding.  In it I hope to find a deeper understanding of my salvation and a quieter, more humble personality in the Lord.
We Have God's His Voice!
We Have God's His Voice!
Isaiah 55
1 Come all you who are everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy and eat! Come buy, and eat  wine and milk without money and without cost.
This is my progress today…I try to read the chapter several times a day…then I will begin to write it down repeatedly once or twice a day…that is my memorization process…However, there are a few ladies who participate who have awesome methods of memorization, and quite impressed me with their video and audio presentations of their pieces in January! Here is one such method from Amy on her blogspot Lavendar *Sparkles*
In expectation of huge things I move forward!   mmmsplat2
Mega Memory Month Back by Popular Demand! July 2009
I found Mega Memory Month a great way to stay connected with God and on WordPress. So I return (if a bit late 😉 ) to the challenge once again. I’d like to thank Ann Kroeker for hosting the challenge and I invite my friend’s to join.  Click the link above and check how to join us!
It’s amazing!
As for Hopeannfaith I will be memorizing …
Isaian 55
Holman Christian Standard Bible
Come to the Lord
1 “Come, everyone who is thirsty, (A)
    come to the waters;
    and you without money,
    come, buy, and eat!
    Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost!
    2 Why do you spend money on what is not food,
    and your wages on what does not satisfy?
    Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
    and you will enjoy the choicest of foods. [a]
    3 Pay attention and come to Me;
    listen, so that you will live.
    I will make an everlasting covenant with you, (B)
    the promises assured to David. (C)
    4 Since I have made him a witness to the peoples, (D)
    a leader and commander for the peoples, (E)
    5 so you will summon a nation you do not know, (F)
    and nations who do not know you will run to you. (G)
    For the LORD your God,
    even the Holy One of Israel, (H)
    has glorified you.” (I)
    6 Seek the LORD while He may be found;
    call to Him while He is near. (J)
    7 Let the wicked one abandon his way,
    and the sinful one his thoughts; (K)
    let him return to the LORD,
    so He may have compassion on him,
    and to our God, for He will freely forgive. (L)
    8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
    and your ways are not My ways.”
          [This is] the LORD‘s declaration.
    9 “For as heaven is higher than earth, (M)
    so My ways are higher than your ways,
    and My thoughts than your thoughts.
    10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven,
    and do not return there
    without saturating the earth,
    and making it germinate and sprout,
    and providing seed to sow
    and food to eat, (N)
    11 so My word that comes from My mouth
    will not return to Me empty,
    but it will accomplish what I please,
    and will prosper in what I send it [to do].” (O)
    12 You will indeed go out with joy
    and be peacefully guided;
    the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you,
    and all the trees of the field will clap [their] hands. (P)
    13 Instead of the thornbush, a cypress will come up,
    and instead of the brier, a myrtle will come up; (Q)
    it will make a name for the LORD (R)
    as an everlasting sign that will not be destroyed.
At our church we our Pastor Carol is doing a Wednesday Evening series of teachings on…
Hearing the Voice of God!
The series began on July 1st. God is interesting…here’s to exercising our minds and making new friends!
And for Hopeannfaith…deepening my walk with God!
...Praise the Lord!
