Praise ~ What is in a Name?

What I want...Once again I am amazed by a New Thing Ministry’s motivational today.
I then threaded together what God wove in my head…It’s slightly different than the definition in the devotional..not much though. See what you think…
{I’ll attach the devotional at the end…just know I didn’t get any sleep last night, and no nap today and it’s midnight! LOL…;) }

What happens when we praise God?
What is in a name?

In the bible names have significant meaning. God even wove promises within the blood lines of His people! From father to son, one may find blessings and promises within the names of biblical families.

Generational inheritance at it’s finest.

In Chronicles 4:1 we find Judah and his five sons. Judah, meaning Praise, we could say the sons of Praise.

Judah was father to:

Pharez meaning: break, gap or cut off
Hezron meaning: a yard, a surrounding wall or hamlet (a small village).
Carmi meaning: gardener, increase of the vineyard.
Hur meaning: liberty, white linen
Shobal meaning: flow, the flow of a lady’s train (behind her)

So what is God telling us in this family lineage?

Praise breaks all hinderances off of God’s children. Bringing His protection, enveloping the coming of God’s harvest in the lives of His people. Causing them to increase and be freed from their restraining roots. Praise then cleanses God’s children, causing the unbridled flow of His blessings. Praise brings forth God’s abundance, peace, anointing, healing and inheritance in the lives of His people.

One can also see the mission of Praise, when we define the names in this way:

Praise breaks all of the strongholds that block the harvest of God’s people. God surrounds and protects His harvest while Praise frees them from their roots (sin) and cleanses the Bride (The Church). Thus allowing the train of her gown to flow in her inheritance. God’s abundance, peace, and anointing in Christ.

Praise ushers in the Kingdom of God!

It brings new meaning to the question of “What is in a name”!

A Product of My Praise…

The Product of Praise

I have always loved to teach on praise and worship – it is one of my favorite subjects. It is such a powerful force and many people don’t realize that truth.

Many of us know some of the effects of praise, the Bible tells us plainly that praise stills the avenger – or stops the enemy in his tracks. It also tells us that God inhabits our praise, He literally makes a home, or habitation with us when we praise Him.

Yesterday, I was visiting with a friend and she brought out a verse about praise that was very enlightening – I have to share it with you.

1 Chronicles 4:1 teaches us that the sons of Judah were, Pharez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. The name ‘Judah’ means praise, therefore these four sons were the product, or you might say ‘what was produced when praise was partnered with intimacy.’

In the Bible, names were very important and always significant; in these names we will find great significance.

Pharez means a break, a breach, a breaking forth, gap. This name, that is a product of praise, tells me that praise will remove or cut off hindrances.

Hezron means a yard, enclosed as in a fence, a hamlet, as in surrounded by walls. There is great protection when we praise.

Carmi means a gardener, a garden or vineyard, increase of the vineyard. Our praise will gather in a harvest of blessings. Hur means liberty, white linen – praise will bring the liberty that frees us from our past. Shobal means a flow, a lady’s train, as in trailing after her. There is a flow that follows praise, a flow of blessing, abundance, peace, anointing, and inheritance.

In this season where God is telling us to expect great things – to increase our expectation, I believe that it is timely to know the effects or results of becoming a person of praise. First of all, it will remove anything hindering what you are expecting in this season to come to pass. Secondly, it will bring you protection; you will be fenced in by His presence as He makes His habitation in your life. Next, it will help to gather in your blessings. It will bring you liberty from the past as you praise and worship God. Finally, there will be a flow of blessings in your life that will be undeniable.

I spoke the other day about getting ready for what God has for you – and to show God that you are expecting something – one way to do that is through praise. In the Old Testament, the children of God would praise greatly after God delivered them. They threw parties and danced before the Lord, praising Him with all their might.

Today, our deliverance has already come. It was complete at the cross. That is undeniable. When Jesus declared ‘it is finished’ it was indeed finished. And we are people of faith. We see it with our spiritual eyes before it happens. We hear the sound of the Lord coming with His promises before He arrives. Like the breeze of the wind, blowing through the woods, we hear Him coming in this season. Therefore the perfect thing for us to do is to praise Him before we see it with our natural eyes, don’t you think.

Praise stills the avenger. Praise removes hindrances. Praise surrounds us with God’s presence. Praise will gather our harvest. Praise liberates us. Praise brings the flow of the blessings of God into our life – all these are good reasons to praise.

However, there is one reason and one reason alone that we should praise and worship God. He is worthy of our praise, He is God. Today, take some time to become intimate with God through praise. Dance before the Lord as if you have seen the manifestation of your promise. Shout to the Lord as if all your needs are met in abundance. Sing to the Lord as if you were walking in the fullness of His promises. You will be in awe of the things that will change in your life as you do – praise Him and allow Him to make His home with you.

The God is Good List…Update!

Trinity in Clover

Trinity in Clover

It has been a few weeks. Things have been odd to say the least. I believe depression has even attempted to enter. No battle here, just a refusal, now, to allow myself the indulgence!

Some substantial changes are occuring around me. These are good changes, I am told, and they effect my life. Also, in things I know that God told me would be happening, and things He has firmly confirmed are still processing into the natural world are taking time.All the while I am being called to continue my faith stand. All who have been standing in faith for an extended period of time knows how this can, at times, can be difficult. Yet, we do it. So that being said here are the wonderful things God has continued to do in my life!

3 Sundays ago one of my front teeth fell out, as I have already written about! Yep, right there in service it broke and disintegrated into my hand!

On the way to the dentist God told me that a person (who wishes to remain anonymous!) would be taking care of my dental needs. Having the blessing of actually hearing God’s voice, I understood what he was telling me and from past fulfillment knew that His promises are always kep, I told my husband what I had been told.

Now, as much as this person is apart of my life and I love them, I did not understand why this would even be a consideration on their part. But I know God, so I acknowledged it and went about finding out what was going to need t be done.

Somehow I got $1200.00 in my head, and I know that that will be what is needed, even though after all is said and done I don’t know the final bill here, obviously.

The following Sunday this lovely person came to me and wanted to talk to me. It was Sunday morning, and I am the church secretary, so my dental issues were not a consideration for me then. Besides it had been a week, and as humans we become accustomed to things, even big things, in that amount of time, so I didn’t think she wanted to talk to me personally, I thought she had church business in mind.

She met me in my office and said hi, and asked about my tooth and the dentist. Thinking she was being polite and would get to the subject she wanted to discuss after the friendly chat, I told her I had gone and I would have to wait a bit to have the work done.

She asked if I would mind telling her how much it was going to cost. I said no that I thought the figure they had quoted was $1200.00. This figure was the figure that when I purchase the insurance my dentist provides would be the round about cost of a partical denture, which is what will eventually be what is done.

She then brought back my conversation with God a few days before, with a jolt! She smiled and said to me that that figure was exactly what God had told her. She proceeded to tell me that God had put my need on her heart and that she had spoken to her husband and they had agreed, as they usually do, to be obedient!

Just about immediately, and I believe, no I know, the lag in time always has something to do with us and not God at all, God handled my need.

In our weakness, when we are completely unable to manage our situations ourselves and admit that, God is able to work wonders and miracles.

Unfortunately the miracles and wonders that follow those of us that believe are small in comparison to Lazareth (John 11:17-46). Mainly because we have allowed ourselves to be blinded by the definitions of a world that does not believe!

God sending the exact person with the exact solution, He told me about, should be the norm in life! But in our world this is the miracle that followed me, so I tell you about it!

It is no small miracle or wonder to me! I stand in awe of a God who takes the time to solve my problems!
Like the quotes and songs ask, “Who am I that He is thinking of me” ?

I am His child! The daughter of the King! Yet, and still…He thinks and cares for me!

Other things He has done since the whole dental thing?…

My son had issues with a business situation. This should have cost him money he could not afford. Less than a day ago, a representative of the bank in question even told him his chances were slim, as his misunderstanding of the current changes were basically his problem.

Today, after prayer and reminding my son that God has all of this in hand, everything was put in order costing him nothing.

He remindes me daily to stand on His Word and not my understanding, or on what I see. He has stopped me from making my own plans. Stopped me and affirmed in me not to fix my own situations! He assures me daily that He will attend to my needs!

All the glory and honor goes to God here! He is faithful to us, all of the time.

The other changes that are in the works, the other promises God audibly told me would occur… They will come to pass! My inner battle with worry and control, while exceedingly smaller than in the past, I am handling with the Word! I will stand on what it is He told me personally and I will build that faith in me with His Word, as my humanity is refined to righteousness in God, by God!

Psalm 139

1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall[a] on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[b]
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.

19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
20 For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.[c]
21 Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 52:8-9

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
9 I will praise You forever,
Because You have done it;
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your name, for it is good.

Ephesians 2: 11-19

Brought Near by His Blood

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Christ Our Peace

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Christ Our Cornerstone

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

I encourage you today to look to God for the answers to those circumstances that appear impossible for you. I encourage you to look to the Word, build your faith and stand on it.

I am, personally, here to tell you that the more this becomes apart of your life, your day to day, the faster He answers you and attends to your needs.

God is good and He is faithful to finish what He has started.
