Mega Memory Month ^^ Update…

Mega Memory Month 2010

I find myself with time today because I am home sleeping off the end of a very nasty cold with sore throat.  With prayer in thankgiving and much Theraflu …

what every cold needs...

 I will conquer this.

As last week I find that the enemy is too interested in my walk with God. I pick a few key scripture verses to memorize and the enemy comes instantly.

 If you read my last update you are aware of my initial road blocks. So I determined for the 3rd time to succeed at this MMM. So I chose to experiment with one of the suggestions from Ann Kroeker. At Productivity 501 you will find “How to Memorize Verbatim Text”. I found it interesting and was obviously in need of assistance with fitting this memorization task into my demanding and ever eventful schedule.

What I found was amazing. Not only does it work, but it worked without any real concentration on the instructions. Honestly I still have not read more than the first few paragraphs of the instructions. As I stated in my last post I put my scriptures into the converter, honestly I copied and pasted them from Biblegateway.com !  When I copied out the converted scriptures I found that I could already get much of the scripture from the conversion sheet!!!

All I can say is God intricately created us and our brains! It is amazing what our brain retains from a single glance. From this…

Verbatim Memorization

I can do this…I will cross out where I miss the mark or look at the scripture for the word I cannot decipher.

Genesis 11:6

The Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they put   purpose to do will be impossible for them.

Amazing right. I promise you, I have put very minimal effort into these scripture with what I have had on my plate this month.

Habakkuk 2:2-3

Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, then the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

and finally…

Philippians 3: 13-15

Bretheren I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us, as many as are perfect, have this attitude, and  if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that to also to you.

So I would have to say that this memorization technique truly does work! I will be using this again, I assure you! Not too bad I’d say! Not too bad at all.

Thank you Ann!

So just some FYI: My plate remains heaping!

1. We are in the midst of beginning my Dachshund Breeding business. We have 6 rambunctious 8 week old Doxies and we are entertaining people who are interested in adopting our beauties!

2. Don has finally gone to a doctor about his hernia, an Inguinal Hernia, and we met with the surgeon on the 14th. Just a bit over a week after Grandma got out of the hospital. He is scheduled for surgery on my birthday! January 27th.

Many people have inquired if that upsets me. While I find it amusing that yet again the enemy is attempting to step in and ruin a day that should be mine and about me, I am grateful that I will be receiving a healthy husband for my birthday!   🙂   What better gift is there? Really.
3. …and whatever life brings along in my day to day life!

So off to bed I go…feeling the fever returning! Glad I got this update in!

Remember to enjoy your life…tell them you love them, bless someone and finally…be good to yourselves! God expects these from us.

Blessings my friends!

My MMM UP^Date…feeling a bit less than about things right now….:( (: Good thing God is Good!

Mega Memory Month 2010

This is my first update and I must say, past the first two days I have not been able to pay much attention to this endeavor of ours. This is my third attempt at MMM and I would very much like to succeed this time.

I look at my daunting task  realizing that I chose the volume of scriptures I wanted to memorize. I believe I may have bitten off a bit more than I can chew, so to speak. If I think about it, I often do give myself  too much to accomplish, at one time.

Lately I have been trying to regain my focus. Desiring my routine back from the frey of the holidays. Then this morning I get up and spend my coffee time with God, as I do each morning, reading devotionals and daily scripture that I receive by e-mail. As I spend this prayerful time with God my heart lands on a need to focus. To focus on God.

With this almost desperate desire to get my routine back in synch I hear Father say…why do you want old things? Stopping dead in my tracks I find that I must consider , do I really want what I had yesterday? Or, rather, would I desire the New Things God has for me today?

So I FOCUS on Father.

One of my motivational e-mails, from a New Thing Ministries and Kim Potter gave me this:

 “God is still saying this to us today – as far as you can see, I will give it to you.”

Back to my MMM Up^Date:

I chose a daunting list of scriptures for memorization! Then my grandmother got ill and was in the hospital on the 3rd, for just over a week. The day after I posted my intentions! Haa! Isn’t that a statute in Murphy’s Law!!   🙂     Simply not over the overwhelming of Me, from the holidays I was thrown, once again, into the role of caregiver.

Now it is the 12th and aside from some of my normal memorization techniques, nothing amazing here…read and write it over and over, I have done nothing but be grateful that my church has adopted and repeated 2 of my 4 choices as focus’ for 2010.  So I will try here to catch the 1st one. It is one of my favorite!

The RED is where I missed it!

Genesis 11:6    The Lord said, Behold they are one people and they all have one language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing they purpose to do will be impossible for them.

Habakkuk 2:2-3

The LORD answered me and said, Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail, though it tarries wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

The other two Isaiah 61 and Philippians 3:13-15 I will not even attempt as yet.

Infact, if it is okay with all of the other participants, I am going to put aside the Chapter of Isaiah 61 for MMM in the summer. What do you think? Please let me know.

Philippians 3:13-15 is one of the scriptures I memorized in Bible school about 3 years ago. I am hoping that it will come back easily. Praise God for giving us the mind of Christ!

Upon reading Ann’s update I clicked on over to this link she provided for us to check into. I have put my scriptures, including Isaiah 61, into the converter and I am going to give it a go. I let you know how it goes.

There you have it. My MMM Up^Date!

In reference to the feeling less than. Due to feeling overwhelmed I would like to leave you with this exerpt from another of my e-mail devotional/motivationals…

Jesusfreakhideout.com Weekly Devotional
http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com

Often times, I find, I bite off more than I can chew in my life because I feel as if I am not accomplishing enough. This devotional also hit home when I got it this evening. I compare myself to others, mostly the women I have given my loyalties to, and feel less than. Like what is wrong with me that I cannot accomplish what they have accomplished. I forget that I am who God made me to be…not who He made those women to be.

And that my loves is a post for another time!

Here is a reminder not to compare yourself to others and to be true to the You God made you to be! Blessings!

Galatians 6:4 (TLB): “Let everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well done, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else.”

“Let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.” (Romans 12:6 MSG)

If we will concentrate on becoming who GOD created us to be–instead of who we think we ought to be, or who someone else wants us to be–we will experience a sense of peace and security that will enable us to resist focusing on what those around us are doing. You are unique! And God is fitting you for a purpose like no one else’s. Cooperate with Him and His plans for you, and you can rightfully declare as David did–“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me”! (Psalm 138:8 NIV)

A New Year…A New Decade…New Beginnings

Mega Memory Month 2010

Happy 2010!

2010 is an exciting prospect for me. As everyone around me is focused on the coming year and resolutions, I stand amazed at what lies ahead. 2010 is so much more than a New Year.

It is a New Decade…one that will open like a flower in spring, before our very eyes. We can choose to stop and smell the sweetness or busily rush on by without reaping the gift that has been provide before us.

For me it is time to Slow Down and press into God.

The last few months of 2009 got away from me, and I did not like how that felt. I wrote less. I didn’t work on my photographs like I should have, although I did take them. I believe I attempted to get too many things organized and squared away at the same time and became overwhelmed and only hit the tips of my mountains.

Well God’s Word says that I have the faith within me, God’s faith, within me, to move mountains. So mountains I will conquer. With all the ropes securely tied and all those little carbines ready to hold me steady…here we go.

A good friend on FB posted today that she does not make New Year Resolutions, she sets Goals for the year.  She had 19 for 2009 and succeeded to reach 9 of those. She was content with her progress and had begun this morning to re-evaluate those unmet goals and add a few new ones to the list. She was not feeling as if she had failed, she celebrated her completed goals and moved the unmet ones to 2010, if they still applied.

She posted this inspiration that stuck with me…

God has a purpose for everyone, and living to fulfill your purpose is an everyday worship! ~ Lavinia Romero
So in the Worship of my God I will spend the weekend working on my Goals for 2010…knowing there will be no failures to have.
 2010 is a New Year, A New Decade…A new time and place in History!

 The Biblical signifigance of the number 10 is profound in this particular decade.

 Biblically the number 10 represents:

  • a start of a whole new order of numbers.
  • the completion of a cycle~nothing missing~nothing added.
  • The Divine Order from God ~ Perfection~ Divine Perfection.

 I see no failure there! However, expecting good things to happen requires positive action!

The revelation I received immediately upon hearing the concept of 10s signifigance is that we must be aware that this is a decade thing~2010 simply begins the New beginning…it’s going to be much more profound.

 2010 is actually three 10s in a row. A Trinity~ The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit.

 20 represents the concept of God and Jesus being one…and 10 is the Living Testament of the Holy Spirit. Where we are presently. Living in the Spirit.

I am excited!   I am aware that my revelation may not be your revelation…but I don’t seen anything unbiblical in my revelation yet! I just feel the Spirit stirring within me.

With that excitement stirring in me I have chosen what I will be memorizing for   Mega Memory Month January 2010.

 Our Church has embarked upon a transition. Our Pastor stepped up into an evangelistic calling that God had for him. His son has been chosen to take the helm and the pulpit. This all began in November of ’09, and has been flowing smoothly. It is amazing when people move in the unity of God’s calling.

Our new Pastor has a mighty anointing and a terrific way with the Word of God and we are going to spend the year learning the Who, What and Why of Christ Jesus and all that goes with that!

Pastor has chosen a Cornerstone Scripture and a Focus Scripture to focus upon for 2010 and this transition…so in keeping  with that focus I have decided to engrave this scriptures on my heart.

The Corner Stone

Genesis 11:6 (New American Standard Bible)

  6The LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them.

The Focus for 2010:

  Habakkuk 2:2-3 (New American Standard Bible)

2Then the LORD answered me and said,
         “Record the vision
         And inscribe it on tablets,
         That the one who reads it may run.
    3“For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
         It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail
         Though it tarries, wait for it;
         For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

 The Vision of RLFC:

Isaiah 61 (New American Standard Bible)

Exaltation of the Afflicted

    1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
         Because the LORD has anointed me
         To bring good news to the afflicted;
         He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
         To proclaim liberty to captives
         And freedom to prisoners;
    2To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD
         And the day of vengeance of our God;
         To comfort all who mourn,
    3To grant those who mourn in Zion,
         Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
         The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
         The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting
         So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
         The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.
    4Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
         They will raise up the former devastations;
         And they will repair the ruined cities,
         The desolations of many generations.
    5Strangers will stand and pasture your flocks,
         And foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.
    6But you will be called the priests of the LORD;
         You will be spoken of as ministers of our God
         You will eat the wealth of nations,
         And in their riches you will boast.
    7Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,
         And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion
         Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land,
         Everlasting joy will be theirs.
    8For I, the LORD, love justice,
         I hate robbery in the burnt offering;
         And I will faithfully give them their recompense
         And make an everlasting covenant with them.
    9Then their offspring will be known among the nations,
         And their descendants in the midst of the peoples.
         All who see them will recognize them
         Because they are the offspring whom the LORD has blessed.
    10I will rejoice greatly in the LORD,
         My soul will exult in my God;
         For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
         He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
         As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
         And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
    11For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
         And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
         So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise
         To spring up before all the nations.

And for Andrea personally:

Philippians 3:13-15 (New American Standard Bible)

 13Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;

Happy New Year! 🙂
