Scripture repeatedly instructs us to praise the LORD. As a people we praise God for many things and on many levels. So we praise God out of obedience?
The answer should be yes. Loving God is proved by active obedience to the instruction of His Word.
In Psalm 91, at the end, we find a love letter from God the Father, to His children. It begins in verse 14, “Because He loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him. I will protect him for he acknowledges my name.
Honoring God, reverentially fearing Him, causes God to honor us. This often happens during praise.
When I praise God with a heavy heart, I begin to experience a lightening of my burden, then within me I begin to feel joy. The joy of the Lord, which the Word reveals as our strength. I become stronger, as I obediently praise my God.
Praise is a response to the very character of God. In our praise, we, increasingly reflect God’s nature.
