Thousands and Tens ~ a Few Words Thursday Post ♥

 Few Words Thursday…

 For real. 🙂

I couldn’t ignor God on Wednesday morning yet I knew this was for Few Words Thursday. So for those of you who are connected to me with Facebook I humbly ask you to forgive the repeat.

A bit of backround for those who do not follow me on Facebook or Twitter. My husband, Don and I lead a small bible  study on Tuesday evenings in our home. We follow a curriculum developed by our pastor to get through the major books of the Old Testament in a year.

Chapel Street Bible Study

A church in transition, we are going through some growing pains. Stretching and growing can be a painful thing, but knowing that God has an infallible plan for you makes these pains somehow less painful and more understandable.

We all learn…if we are teachable. The bible clearly states that God is no respector of persons…it also says we are all CALLED to ministry. Every ministry is vital to the Kingdom. Everyone must use their callings, talents and giftings for the Kingdom to move forward.

If you gave your life to Jesus…YOU were CALLED specifically by God for a specific purpose.

Each shall answer the call…one way or the other…

Here’s the note/post from Wednesday!

*Thousands and Tens

This stood out to me, so much, from last evening’s bible study, that I woke this morning persuing it.

In my quality time with God, of late, He has been showing me vital things about who I am in Christ.

He has been unwrapping my calling(s).

This is not always comfortable, it is not always what may want or desire!

The Word states things so clearly!

Revelation and wisdom comes, each day, as I diligently seek God in my day to day…

As I earnestly seek knowledge and understanding by the renewing of my mind I gain wisdom. ~ Proverbs 2:1-6

Here is my revelatory scripture for today…

This stood out to me[bold] ; from Exodus 18 [in context]:

“…what you are doing is not good. 18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. 19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him. 20 Teach them his decrees and instructions, and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave. 21 But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. 23 If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”

24 Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said. 25 He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 26 They served as judges for the people at all times. The difficult cases they brought to Moses, but the simple ones they decided themselves.”

God gave Moses capable men to be made leaders…to minister not only to the thousands but to the tens as well…

God intended all of His people to be instrumental in the Kingdom.

“When you gave your life to Jesus, He drafted you into full-time ministry!” ~Steven Furtick

It’s MINISTRY…we ALL are called to ministry…by God.

The good thing is that when you are ready He, GOD, alone, reveals to YOU, alone, what PLANS HE HAS FOR YOUR LIFE…

NO! DO NOT WORRY!…His plans for you are for life and hope and success! Read Jeremiah 29 {all of it, it’s a short chapter.}

Some of us are called to thousands…yet just as vital… Some of us are called to tens!

This MUST NOT be deminished.

Author: Hopeannfaith

Welcome, I'm Andrea ... HOPEannFAITH ... I write and take pictures as a way of expression. These are gifts given by a loving and indulgent Father, to a headstrong and stubborn daughter, with much to say. A semi-retired social worker/secretary, I now call myself a writer. I've published one internet article and written many blog posts. However, publishing does not make one a writer, anymore than taking a box camera to the park makes one a photographer. What makes one who and what they are? Well God for one ... formed me before the foundations of this world (Psalm 139); and many, many years after putting away my passion for wordsmithing and picture taking He gave it back ... in droves. I am a culmination of my choices and experiences. It is here that my experiences color the world in print and color. It is my goal to reach just one soul a day with love ... encouragement ... understanding or just letting that soul know that they are not alone where they are today. This is about creating ~ all of it. Creating a HOLY and SACRED place where the ugly truth can be healed and the beauty of a moment or a tear can brighten a day for the experience. Why HOPEannFAITH? Hopeannfaith is my inner child, and she is maturing, as she should have done all along. She is learning all about how Faith fulfills Hope. She is learning how to live. HOPEannFAITH ~ the wonder twins all wrapped up in one, me. These are my Journey Journals ~ written and visual. I welcome your company. I welcome your friendships. My Journey is in the light ~ although I have and will share the shadowy corners and the dark ~ so you know that you are never alone there. If we hold hands in the dark, and we walk, side by side, through the shadow, we will reach the Light together. In relationship with one another and with the Light. Blessings.

  1. Good thoughts. Congratulations on your growing.

  2. Fewer Words Thursday-Girls Do Like To Talk
    April 7, 2011
In person, it is usually hard to get me to open up but once I do, I want to talk forever. Both of my daughters have done their share of talking in their lives but I want to introduce another girl in our family who likes to talk nonstop. Her name is Layla and she is Anna, my youngest daughter’s guinea pig. One thing Anna has taught me in her young life is to appreciate animals. She loves them and wants to work with them when she is grown.
When we get Layla out of her cage, she becomes very chatty and the last time we got her out, Anna started “shh”ing her and she would stop for only a second and then start back up again. Last

night, however, when I filmed this, she stayed quiet until Anna petted her.
Listen and you can hear Anna “shh”ing Layla and her stopping her chatter until you see Anna pet her and she responds enthusiastically. I never dreamed I would actually like a guinea pig. I’ve never been much of an animal person.
It is kind of shaky. My first time. Sorry about that.
