The Prayer Persistent…it’s Thursday!

Let My Words Be Few Thursday…

Good Thursday Morning Loves! ♥

And here we are again celebrating A Few Words…together.
A bit of thought and a little converstation…quick and to the point.
No real WORD COUNT applies…just say it as concisely as you can…make us think…inspire us to write.
Let My Words Be Few is a Writing Prompt.
It is a whispered prayer.
It is a kind word and a hand up…Thursday is for encouragement, friendship and love…so write with me. Make me ponder my life in reference to your perspective!
** I’m going to do 2 Few Words this week…one in Words…the other over on my other blog: HOPEannFAITH’s Treasure Chest in photos.
persistance in Prayer:

Dear God...A Psalm 91 Prayer

I read a devotional yesterday that spoke about what has been taught about prayer in the last several years.
Many have been taught that praying for something more than once is a lack of faith. Even a sin.  For a moment I believed that, and in faith, and it worked, until a crisis rose.

Until I encountered a circumstance in life that required more time, more persistence…more than one

I am (pride myself!) a woman of FIRM faith. Therefore I KNOW that I know that God has all things in hand. There is a divine purpose and plan!
I am a human. Therefore I falter and stumble and forget that I don’t HAVE to do things on my own. That I am unable , honestly, to do anything without God!
So I can honestly say that there have been times when I prayed once and left a thing in God’s hands.
And there were time, a many, that I prayed continually for the same thing, for the same breakthrough!
Praying once for a thing, a person, a circumstance with the FAITH and KNOWLEDGE that God has it in hand, proves in us a  high level of  TRUST in God, of a maturity of FAITH in that area.
Yet, praying persistently does not necessarily prove a lack of faith, knowledge, trust or maturity!
Praying  persistently is encouraged and has its own purposeful outcome!
 Specifically Luke 11:9
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
Jesus tells us here: KEEP ASKING…KEEP SEEKING…KEEP KNOCKING and things will be provided!
In fact Jesus is found many times going off by himself to pray. Even the prayer in the garden of Gethsemane shows a level of persistant humanity in the Son of God, as seen in the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
And there is the persistent woman in Luke 18:1-8
Specifically Luke 18:3
And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
This is a picture of persistent prayer and petition! And one that was answered and honored!
You see, God loves it when His kids come to Him for solution. He encourages and even expects us to rely upon Him alone…He did say:
Lean not upon your own understanding! Proverbs 3:5-6
Tell me loves, do you struggle with how you should pray at times? Have you worried that you are praying incorrectly?
Well let me say this…in the bible { Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth} there are many more than just one examples of how to pray! Each prayer you read in the Word is just that, too, an example, a template for us to take and form our own prayers and petitions to our Father God.
So seek them out!
Google them!
That’s how I do it sometimes! 🙂
Blessings Loves!  ♥

Welcome, I'm Andrea ... HOPEannFAITH ... I write and take pictures as a way of expression. These are gifts given by a loving and indulgent Father, to a headstrong and stubborn daughter, with much to say. A semi-retired social worker/secretary, I now call myself a writer. I've published one internet article and written many blog posts. However, publishing does not make one a writer, anymore than taking a box camera to the park makes one a photographer. What makes one who and what they are? Well God for one ... formed me before the foundations of this world (Psalm 139); and many, many years after putting away my passion for wordsmithing and picture taking He gave it back ... in droves. I am a culmination of my choices and experiences. It is here that my experiences color the world in print and color. It is my goal to reach just one soul a day with love ... encouragement ... understanding or just letting that soul know that they are not alone where they are today. This is about creating ~ all of it. Creating a HOLY and SACRED place where the ugly truth can be healed and the beauty of a moment or a tear can brighten a day for the experience. Why HOPEannFAITH? Hopeannfaith is my inner child, and she is maturing, as she should have done all along. She is learning all about how Faith fulfills Hope. She is learning how to live. HOPEannFAITH ~ the wonder twins all wrapped up in one, me. These are my Journey Journals ~ written and visual. I welcome your company. I welcome your friendships. My Journey is in the light ~ although I have and will share the shadowy corners and the dark ~ so you know that you are never alone there. If we hold hands in the dark, and we walk, side by side, through the shadow, we will reach the Light together. In relationship with one another and with the Light. Blessings.

  2. Brilliant article, Andrea! God does want us to pray to him, I think so. I think he wants communication with us, as you said. He is our Father-He wants us to talk to Him. I have been dealing with a decision and not wanting to bother Him too much but now I’m feeling more comfortable about praying to Him about this. Thanks!
Btw, I posted my Fewer Words Thursday on your post comments of last week. Do I need to redo it on this week’s comments? I didn’t do very well with the “few words” part. It’s kinda long. 🙂
I’m not on facebook but I have your email address.
