How Wide is God’s Love?


Good Friday Morning!

It’s been a long week here in Hutchland, with days stretching into the wee hours of the morning; and I have 5 Minutes to tell you about it!

Wide…

I saw the topic and this immediately came to mind, considering this weeks event!

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” ~ Ephesians 3:16-19

GO!

 Tuesday evening a freight train ran through my yard at 9:30 pm … literally minutes after our bible study guest left our home. It was a TORNADO! In New Jersey! REALLY!

The Hubs and I were straightening up and he was about to head back out to work … OT! 🙂
Then this tremendous noise and wind and the curtains violently sucked out and then back in with a snap and a muted crash or boom was heard as our home (1800s Victorian Farm House) shifted west and back east again and settled back! Literally 5 minutes! 😀

The Hubs and I looked at one another and said What The …

Upon looking out from the porch I informed the Hubs that branches were down and maybe he should check before he left, so he did and …

Our 60″, 88′ around the base, 100+ year old Swamp Maple had been uprooted and had hit our home!!! REALLY!?!

And then the week continued …

You can see how wide the top branches are from the ground to above the roof of my 2 story home!

You can wonder how wide spread the damages were!

But your best guess would be wrong!

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—”

Today I can tell you that I have a minute grasp on how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. Now I don’t pretend to know why this happened. Some would ask why God would allow this. Others would say that He allowed it to happen for a reason, to change things. Still others would say things just happen, for no understandable reason!

I say … this happened and what I learned were these things (and they will not soon be forgotten!):

*God is always with us! (Minimal damage to the house,considering, and no one hurt and repair is already in motion!)

*His love for us is the biggest, most unfathomable thing we can contemplate!

*And ALL situations can be used for blessing! (We were able to bless a family we know with firewood to heat their home for the coming winter!)

Wide … Yes … God and all his purposes and plans for us are WIDE! As in from the EAST to the WEST!

STOP!

* Forgive me 😉 I did go over the 5 minutes a bit. Blessings everyone! … there are always blessings, in all things.

Here I am again … sitting in front of this screen … tapping my fingers lightly on the keyboard wondering what I know about Graceful …

So… what do I know from Graceful??? Go!

Graceful is not who I’d say I was … But I see graceful by the grace of God … who is the most Grace-ful in my life.

Graceful is the rushing waves with the sun sparkling diamonds across the surface.

Graceful is the rushing of emotions while the Son calms the spirit, freeing a soul to shine His grace in the moment.

Graceful is the setting sun, altering the skies from blues to pinks and purples while the feather clouds dance across God’s canvas.

Graceful is the tap of the keyboards as in unison all of God’s girls [and boys] write their hearts out by His Grace-fullness, sharing a heart, a smile and maybe a tear.

Grace-Full is His love for us as the sun sits lower in the sky and summer fades to fall on the sweetest breeze of time.

We are all Grace – Filled by God and loved by the Everlasting Father, by Grace… STOP.

Abby tapped her Bluetooth and disconnected. She stepped back into the locker room and cautiously peered around the corner. The office at the far end of the room had the curtains pulled shut tightly; she knew what that meant. She closed her eyes for a moment, saying a prayer, but only for a moment. It didn’t pay at all to be unobservant.

   She jumped when the curtain in the shower cubicle to her right moved slightly. A scarred, bleeding face looked out, directly into Abby’s eyes, and a pale hand clutched at the curtain.

“Go,” said the dying girl. “You can’t help us.” Abby turned and left.

Hooked right from the beginning the story engages the reader and the characters and scenes are fully fleshed out, ready for the emotional connection that draws the avid reader in! I am loving reading Reduced! ~ Me. 🙂
