Focus on God for 31 Days … Day #5

Roll your works upon the Lord, commit and trust them wholly to Him … Proverbs 16:3 …He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will and so shall your plans be established and succeed.

I trust the Lord … but when it comes to my “works”, writing, photography, motherhood, wife-hood, I’ve listened to others, or worse myself, causing a sense of failure.

And then I stop …

I get all wrapped up in what it all means and whether of not my “works” are worthy when alongside what the world deems acceptable.

And I stop …

This thing God has for me is not a competition, unless I stop! If I stop then He must call another to fill in for me and I miss my calling.

When I focus on God for my “works” … the plans He set out for me to follow then I feel good about my work, I see His wisdom in my words and His beauty in my photographs and joy … yes, joy in my relationships.

It’s all Works, this life. We get from our day to day what we put in it. And when we add God to the mix we cannot miss the call.

Today, Day #5 … I finished a workshop about co-dependency, and my sponsor says I am healthy, for today. That’s the funny thing about sponsors and counselors, it’s about today … tomorrow has enough worries of it’s own.

I feel good about Day#5 – I accomplished what I set out in the workshop. I have a clear focus on whose opinion and guidance is important.

I am rolling my life works upon the LORD for His approval, alone. His will, not mine, is sufficient for me … meaning that in His will I cannot fail.

In His will there is no need for comparisons. In His will this journeys story is my own, told from my heart with the words He provides.

I intend to be agreeable to His will … willing to accept the plan He has for my life. Here’s a recent piece:

Feeling Monet

Do you do your works on your own? Or with God? The word says …

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

~ Matthew 11:28-30

Roll your works upon the Lord … taste success.
