Let My Words be Few Thursday ~ Grateful ~

Let My Words Be Few Thursday

Welcome!

HOPEannFAITH’s very first “Let My Words be Few” Thursday!

Please join us!

Leave me a link to your “Few Words”¬†blog post; it can be about anything you want, but short and to¬†the point!¬†

¬†I will link your post¬†into my “Few Words”¬†posts; and we can discuss and¬†get to know¬†one another.¬†

¬†I will ¬†get a Mr. Linksy thingy, to make joining us easier for you. I will then need to learn how to use it. ūüėÄ

“Few Words” Thursdays is my¬†attempt at concise and profound writing…where the content touches our Spirits and not just our minds and flesh. I hope this will improve my writing skill set while deepening my spiritual walk.

As I journey to Wholeness in 2011, I walk primarily with God and likeminded people. I want to live positively in an intentional manner.

I believe this is going to heal me physically, spiritually and mentally.

My word for 2011 is Wholeness…which I may have mentioned once or twice. ūüôā I just ordered my necklace from Linda Leonard Designs. I feel this necklace is an integral part of my Wholeness experience. I don’t know why…but it feels significant.

In this¬†journey to Wholeness I find myself GRATEFUL today. Follow the link to the Webster’s definition of grateful, which I feel is lacking~one day maybe I’ll post a rant about the desication of the English language. What I did find interesting was at the end of the definition it lead me to the definition of Grace; I’m going to research that some more…

I find gratitude to me, the concept of being grateful is a deep humbling thankfulness; one I feel primarily when I am intimate with God, alone. While there are several individuals I am truly grateful to and for, God is by far the person who brings me to humility more than anyone else. I believe that is the way it should be.

But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‚ÄėSalvation comes from the LORD.‚Äô‚ÄĚ Jonah 2:9

Even when we are thankful, feeling humbled in reference to another person or circumstance, it remains my deep belief that that occurs because God has improved us or something in us; repaired or cured something in us; that no mortal physician can. I believe that pure gratitude is divinely inspired.

There is so much I am grateful for…so in an effort to keep this already wordy post short here are but a few things on todays Gratitude list:

I am Humbly Grateful to my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. ♥

A Sign of the Times…

 James 1:27

27  Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

God did not create religion, and Jesus spoke against the religion of man. So what is religion? The way I see it, religion is the traditions created by man,  usually wrong, when they interperet the word of God to their own understanding. Which we are told not to do, clearly, in the Proverbs.

Proverbs 3: 5 -6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
       and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Our creator accepts only one of man’s religious, or habit, precepts. Our God given ability to be a loving people.¬†¬†If one reads any one of the Gospels you will find that it is actually the¬†Greatest Commandment, #13 as I see it. The 13 th commandment tells us to love¬†our neighbor¬†as we love ourselves. He then directs us to hang all the laws and the prophets (those who quote the law against the Lord) on these last two, more important, replacement ¬†LAWS OF GOD.

Matthew 22:36-40

36 ‚ÄúTeacher, which is the great commandment in the law?‚ÄĚ
37 Jesus said to him, ‚Äú ‚ÄėYou shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.‚Äô 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‚ÄėYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.‚Äô 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.‚ÄĚ

So what has this all have to do with the Times we are in? It has everything to do with the times we are living in, right this minute.

For the first time in many, many decades we are in a national decline. As Christians, my family does not adhere to the world’s economy. However, many around us are quite moved by the condition of the economy and the fear that is spreading¬†like the common cold, in a preschool class. Even family who claim Chrisitiantiy as their faith. The times are hard and confusing if one does not cling to the knowledge of a Omnipotent God. A God who provides.

Many ask, and in anger at times, “Why are you above the problems in the economy?! If your God is so loving and fair, then why am I losing everthing? Why is He allowing me and others to suffer and not you?!”.

In my natural being, my life, I and my family, are not above the economy. Our electric and gas bills have gone sky high with everyone else’s. Our mortgage bill still comes in the mail at the beginnin of the month with many other bills that need paying all at the same time.¬†

So why are we different, why does God treat us differently? That is how¬†non-believer’s and new believers see it. ¬†People see my (the Christian’s) calm and misinterperet what I (we) are feeling as being more favored, more loved by God. This is simply not¬†true, God loves us all the same,¬†I simply accept that truth in my life. ¬†If I look at the circumstances of my life, a part time job, an adult son, living at home, on unemployment, the bills, the mortgage etc. and on and on, I could, naturally fall into tremendous fear. However, I focus, diligently, on my God who gives me the ability to make a living and to prosper above the times. I, diligently, pray continually in thanksgiving for God’s provision. And He is faithful to help my family to do what we should have always done. What we should have always done was live within our means. We are now, in these hard times, able to live within our means. We have, like many families, budgeted and saved for things, rather than getting them on credit or paying something late to get a minor item now. Faith in God and diligence in making the correct financial decisions have been fortified by a God concept that makes no logical sense to those who do not know God and the rules of the kingdom. We tithe, but that is another article, you can read that one here.

The result?

God has faithfully supplied our every need.

Not necessarily in the way we saw it in our understanding, yet provide HE does! Just check my blogs to see our blessings!

One of the things we do is see to it that our offerings help others!  Our church, River of Life Family Church, has a food pantry. As the church secretary I have consistant contact with many people who are desperate in this economy. They are losing their homes, jobless and are embarrassed to come and recieve help in this manner. We have seen able bodied men, who have waited until hunger has gotten the best of them, come in, with their heads hung in humiliation, for food to feed their families.

We have prayed and comforted these people, and God has provided! We have successfully fed hundreds of people a week, in the two days a week that River Outreach Food Pantry is open. We even have a clothing give away each day we are open now. And, finally, they are beginning to seek God in their lives! After just over a year these individuals are coming to RLFC to feed upon the Word of God! What a blessing!

Many of our volunteers are being rewarded for their obedience to this challenge. They are getting jobs, in an economy that is seeing more and more people receiving unemployment checks!

Praise God, all the glory and honor to our Father God!

However, ROFP is beginning to be in need. Each week our shelves are donated bare…

ROFP Needs Donations and Volunteers ROFP Needs Donations and Volunteers

 The Angel,  ROFP Angel

the woman, who runs our food pantry, has made connections over the last year and we receive donations from local restaurants, wholesale warehouses and bread companies. And as Wednesday closes and the pantry looks like the picture from last week (above), we know that God will see to it that we can provide for these ever increasing numbers that will be at our door the following Tuesday. The blessings and provision abounds.

So my request to everyone who wanders over to Hopeannfaith’s Well is this…instead of throwing a coin into the well, give it to your local food pantry. Donate food, or better, donate your free time. Reaching out and helping those in need pleases God. Reaching out and helping those in need allows God to help you, in your circumstances.

Volunteer…Helping…it does a Body, Soul and Spirit good.

many, Many, MANY Blessings to you!¬† ūüôā

Merry Christmas!!! ??????????

The Christmas of fear...

The Christmas of fear...

I am no fan of the Christmas season. I don’t enjoy the decorations, the music or the shopping. To be fair to Christmas, I do not like or enjoy any shopping of any kind. Also, the other Christmas dislikes are residual from a very…well just a very. Childhood.

I spend this season diligently avoiding letting my family feel my discomfort.

However, I am appalled at this seasons issues. The economy has all of America walking in paralyzing fear. I was out shopping last night, granted it was a Sunday evening…but it was also the last shopping weekend before Christmas! No one was out…at 6 pm the local Home Depot was closed! This was really odd.¬†Home Depot¬†here where I live is open until 10 pm every evening (night) and until 7 pm on Sundays. I cannot get over that it was closed!

But also very evident…No one was out shopping. Christmas shopping here is usually horrendous. Crazy people parking¬†ON the grass islands with the light poles! Having to park in East Jabip at any given time of day during this Festive Shopping Season!!! I am not exaggerating, either!

Wake up fokes!! Are things really this bad in middle economic America?

I’m all for a Classic Christmas that is about the family and the celebration of the Birth of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus! I am all for the tradition of making the present and gift giving smaller and the love and affection giving larger. But out of fear?!!!

economic fear

economic fear

My husband, wise gentleman that he is, said as we walked into Kohls last night…

” Well, the news programs have done their jobs well, haven’t they.” He said

“Huh?” I said, I was not thinking at all, I was entering the dreaded Kohls!

He answered, ” There is no one shopping. The news has everyone running in terror. They’ve succeeded in causing mass terror.”

I had to agree as I looked back at the parking lot that was not even close to a third of the way full. We were able to park right in front of the doors at about 6:30 pm. That doesn’t happen in mid October, let alone 4 days before Christmas!

” Yes they have!” I said

My gentleman husband holds open the door for me and says, ” Aren’t you glad we aren’t in that fear?”

I smiled as I walked into this store [Yukkkkkk], and agreed.

You see, I am not receiving a paycheck right now, at my job. My oldest son is layed off of his job. My youngest is unemployed and we are surviving on my husbands paycheck and the oldest son’s unemployment, if we need it. We have not needed it!

Our mortgage is paid! Our bills are paid…on one paycheck!!!

I have to admit, this is all about God! Coming into the unity as a family in the realization that God is our ultimate source of survival has given us the edge. We do not fear the economy, because we know God has it in hand. We do not fear the things that the world at large are fearing, God is our source.

So, I understand if you believe us insane. That would be natural for anyone looking in. However, we are not. We do not spend crazily. We are doing without the luxuries, no eating out, we watch movies at home. Our entertainment is home, friend and family based. We are falling in love with the simple things in life! And, each other.

Christmas has had a limit for many years now. We do not force ourselves to endure ugly family get togethers. If we are having issues with others we do not  go. We have Christmas day at home! No travel! Finally! We visit my Grandma on Christmas eve, after the Candle Light service at church. I make a small Christmas dinner [traditional] and invite my Dad.

Christmas needs to be about what it is about!

The birth of our Savior!!

A Savior is Born!

A Savior is Born!

It needs to be about family and being together.

My suggestion??? Take the time to revisit your Faith. Go to a local church for the Christmas Eve service…seek the God of your understanding. He will avert your fears, he will take on your burdens.

He will not leave or forsake you or me! Christmas is about remembering that God sent his son to save a world bent on destruction…this was taken care of !

Here read this and allow it to put your hearts at rest and your fears to bed.

Deuteronomy 31:6

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Luke 2:10-12

10 Then the angel said to them, ‚ÄúDo not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.‚ÄĚ

And why was a Savior born that day? Why do we celebrate His birth each year?

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

I wish you all a very Merry and Fearless Christmas!

Blessings.

Just a quick post before work…

Last night I was reading articles on Helium. They were articles that spoke to the ability to be happy. Some were good, others were alright, yet none spoke the truth. Our happiness can only be found within us when we find God in us.

Those wandering around in the world wondering how to find happiness are circling the confusion fed them. The answer is very simple. We cannot be happy if we do not seek the correct things in life. We can live the illusion of a good life. A life lived well, on the other hand, is submitted to the Creator.

We are children of a King…sons and daughters of¬† The King…we must seek¬†The King, our Father. Why do we think this urging in us is not fulfilled by the things placed in front of¬†us. Why¬†must we¬†seek a more profound reasoning to our lives.¬†

I¬†give to you my sisters and brothers the answers to all of the questions in life, the meaning of life itself…The Lord Jesus Christ.¬†

Nehemiah 8:10

Then he said to them, ‚ÄúGo your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.‚ÄĚ

In your weariness today, in your Google Search for Answers  ,refer to the scripture above. His joy is for you and about you. He knows you, that is why you happened this way! Start there in His joy, be strengthened by the knowledge that He Loves You. Yes you! No matter what.

Be Blessed.

Media Misses Biggest Reenlistment Ceremony (and Pizza Party) in US History!

An awesome e-mail I received! Hit the link and watch the video. How can anyone say that our soldiers are in a battle they did not choose to be in?

Check it out!

God Bless America's Soldiers

God Bless America

FW: Media Misses Biggest Reenlistment Ceremony (and Pizza Party) in US History!

Regardless of what you think of the war, this was an event that deserved publicity. Don’t depend on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, or their radio affiliates to keep you well-informed.

On July 4, 2008, 1,215 American military reenlisted, with General David Petraeus officiating. Held at Al Faw Palace, it was the highest number of reenlistments on a single day in American history!

The video below gives you a hint of how cramped this huge palace was during the event. Spend 1 minute 23 seconds getting a better perspective by watching the ceremony and at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aAU1XE8MQk.

Did you hear about it via any of the mainstream media? I bet not! Talk about your twisted news outlets! These dedicated Americans put their lives on the line for several more years because the mission is honorable and working. And stateside Americans weren’t informed.

Did you know that Lou Malnati√Ę‚Äôs Pizzeria in Chicago sent 2000 pizzas to Baghdad on that date? The Chicago Tribune reported the delivery, but not a word about the reenlistment ceremony. The pizza party was the brainchild of Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Mark Evans of Elk Grove Village, IL, and his teen son Kent. This duo coordinated it on several fronts, Gen. Petraeus, Malnati√Ę‚Äôs, and DHL and the public. Their goal was enough donations to send 300 pizzas, but the response was overwhelming!
