Memory Verses for Prayer and Healing | Day27:31Days

Memory Verses

Memory Verses

Throughout my walk with God and in The Faith I’ve loved the scripture verse, John 14:20 . The Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

It’s comforting to know that Father God sent to us, even after the sacrifice of His Son, someone to guide us and remind us about what God says about life here on earth. The Holy Spirit is sent to comfort us with reminders that no matter what, God said this.

That was the basic sermon of our Sunday service this last Sunday! Learning not to be deceived by what others say, write or instruct. All those things are wonderful and very often someone’s testimony; but is it what God is saying to me today? Or was it for that person and simply meant to be a testimony for us to learn to turn to God’s word for our instruction, blessings and promises?

Those books, those testimonies are to draw us into God … not the person who shared the testimony! I am not going to get closer to God or His plan for me by hanging on to your testimony. Your testimony, my testimony is to show the work of God through me … How He changes the world USING me, His lowly daughter … just plain Andrea.

My testimony should direct you to Him and His Word. Why read my blog and forgo God’s Word. If you read anything past this sentence today please let it be God’s Word on your situation! That  said …

I follow this particular advise I’m giving you today. I turn to God’s Word, I memorize scripture that is Him speaking directly to and about my current situations.

YES! A 2014 year old book speaks directly to my circumstances today! And I’ve studied enough that when I hear a word or conversation it brings scripture to my remembrance.

My experience with God on that ER gurney 5 years ago started with a scripture rising up in my spinning head. Ezekiel 36:26

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

God spoke to me, as if in a dream-state, within the context of that scripture. Now, yes, I enjoy God actually speaking to me directly. I garnered this privilege by being one of His most stubborn and thickheaded daughters. I also believe I received this privilege because when I had my first encounter with Him I was young and need the tangible voice. I feel truly blessed by this particular level of intimacy with the Father; while I know that for some it is disturbing or seems untrue, I assure you it is neither.

The Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance what we’ve put in … I encourage you today to use God’s Words, those verses that speak to you, open up within you, when your read them. That opening or expanding sensation you get when God speaks to you through His Word is revelation and knowledge and wisdom … one or any combination therein.

It feels alive to me. And that’s because the Word is alive, a living representation of God’s love for us! So as a starter, to assist in the healing of any area or ailment in your life here are a few amazing healing verses for you to start with. I firmly encourage you to take these verses and read them in your bible. If you don’t own a bible yet go to Biblegate.com and start to read there. You can use any version you like and you can even have it read it to you!

Memory Verses for Healing –

Read these, Pray these back to Father … He will respond directly to you! Keep them in your Remembrance and Holy Spirit will send them when you are in need of them!

John 4:4 {Greater is He…}

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Isaiah 53:5 { By His stripes we were healed … note the “were”}

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Psalm 118:17 {The original Speak Life verse!}

I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

and one more for now …

Luke 5:17 {The power of the Lord is present to heal YOU!}

One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.

I encourage you, go now and read these scriptures and the whole story around them … write them down and repeat them when you are feeling the ill effects of the ailment that pains you. Let the understanding wash over you … like in this last one: it so powerfully opens up the truth for me!

THE POWER OF THE LORD IS PRESENT TO HEAL!

I know, it’s my revelation knowledge, but I can promise you it’s my knowledge that God is with me right now, present and healing because I did what I am encouraging you to do right now. I felt pain, I ran to the Word and read what God said … and there is no where in the bible, that I’ve found, where it says that God was present in my illness. The Word only says He is present, He is willing, He is speaking, MY HEALING.

Make this Yours today! Blessing to you and thank you for reading.

Healing Scripture Day 23 of 31 Days … A Journey

Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Instruction … Often we long for, and voice that longing in our day to day, instructions in life. We’ve heard people say, and probably said ourselves: “I wish there was a book of instructions for life.”

There is a How To For Life book! The Bible.

basic.instruction.before.leaving.earth

basic.instruction.before.leaving.earth

A popular acronym used by Christians:

Bible:“Basic. Instructions. Before. Leaving. Earth.”

Well, if you’re one that has built your faith into a relationship with God then you know this to be true, as cheesy as the little cliche has become. If you are new and learning … I assure you once I chose to live my life according to God’s will and timing my learning of the Word and applying the same to my life accelerated and became almost easy.

Note I said Almost Easy. This is after all life and we were not promised easy … we were promised it would be worth it. And so far, for me, it’s been worth it.

The scripture I began with is instruction for life … It was to the Israelites who were trying to get to the promised land; but true to human behavior they were complaining and fussing that it wasn’t coming as quickly and as easily as they had envisioned. They had to be continually reminded, encouraged and instructed to follow God and His timing.

They couldn’t wrap their heads around the process. They couldn’t get past putting human attributes to God. Like us they were human with human faculties … and they would get a few step forward and fall several back, into their own understanding.

Yes! The Old Testament is relevant to us today … it reveals our human-ness if we pay attention. The Israelites were just like we are today!

So as to healing … it’s God’s promise to us from the very beginning. Like I’ve said many times on my blog; Our healing was delivered in the Atonement and received at the exact moment of our Salvation!

Our salvation and our healing are one in the same!

We were created In His Image, In His Likeness. We were created to be just like God, and God is NEVER ill. He’s NEVER had a cold, or the flu, or cancer … NEVER; and neither did His Son!

So the instruction for healing here, is much the same as any other instruction for Life … And were given EVERYTHING we need for life … and Godliness {In His likeness!}. And the scripture above is clear … for us it’s to get in The Word, get to know God and His will, His plan and His timing and live your life accordingly. The exact instruction is spelled out right there in His words.

His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

He has a separate the name Healer:

Jehovah Rapha: The Lord Who heals!

I encourage you to get into the book of God’s Instructions for our life and find EVERY.WORD. He said about your healing. You see, I know that I am healed, regardless of what I am feeling in this body or am hearing from the “professionals” and then I refer to His Word and I trust in THAT WORD while doing what He has instructed through the doctors. After all it was our Healer who created the Doctor. 😉

Do you need healing today? Won’t you let me pray for/with you, according to His Word and Will for you life? I would love to be in agreement with you for your complete healing … it’s yours, right here and right now!

Thanks so much for reading. It is my sincere hope that I have sparked a glimmer of hope in you to seek your healing for Jesus, The True Physician. Blessings.

Simplicity of Healing :31 Days:

My daily 5 minutes in healing scripture! A 31 Days of Writing in 5 minute challenge. Click the buttons at the bottom of my posts to: Go to all my challenge posts or to go to any of the blogs that hosts these two challenges! The buttons are self explanatory. =)

Now onto the challenge of writing this post in 5 short minutes!

Go!

Walking with God ... Beyond the Cross

Walking with God … Beyond the Cross

Matthew 9: 5-8

Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

The world would tell us that certain “illnesses” or “diseases” are terminal. Cancer, heart disease, addictions! Some would even say the afflicted could have avoided these ailments with different lifestyle choices. However, with all of the study and research and information available and applied these things continue to exist.

What is it about healing that is so very hard for the human race?

It is now my understanding that healing is a mind thing. A spiritual thing. Which is easier, to accept forgiveness or to accept healing? I believe for some both are virtually impossible; that is until they come to an understanding of God and His character.

When we decide to believe God and His promises we should begin to live right. And in that living right we begin to heal … Mind, Body and Spirit.

But it always goes back to BELIEF.

Belief in Jesus. Belief in healing. Belief that God means what He says and does what He promises.

And Healing was and remains a promise!

Whether you believe yourself to be Born Again or “just” a spiritual person, God sent Jesus to HEAL the world. ALL of them, not only the “chosen”. ALL of THEM!

“THEM” are US! ALL of US!

Mark 2:17

When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

It’s simple. We can heal, we just need to believe what Jesus came to do. We are often asked if we believe in The Cross … and we say yes. But … do we truly understand the gravity of what that means? The Cross is so much more than a piece of wood, or a tree … The Cross is Jesus and what He provided for us. The Cross is a bridge from the fallen world and a fallen life to a Life of Abundance in all things; salvation, healing, righteousness …

I’ve said it before and I’ll likely end up here several times in this challenge.

HEALING was complete in the Atonement! We said YES to Jesus so essentially we said yes not only to salvation but to complete healing body, soul and spirit. Is it a process? Yes … because we question and we doubt and we delay the renewing of our minds.

The Fruit

The Fruit

The simplicity of healing is at the cross … the completion of healing is beyond the cross; is a changing of the mind and life. Complete healing is a fruit we bring forth in our walk with God.

Stop!

I for one, am not content with just sitting at the cross. I am going to accept my forgiveness, and forgive myself too, get up and walk and complete my healing and the healing of my family. I’m going to work this process and deepen my understanding and relationship with Jesus. Amen.

Thanks for stopping by.

I will not wish … Few Words Thursday and InLinkz

Imperfect Beauty

Welcome Loves … It’s Thursday again, and I’m going to attempt the Few Words rule … whatever that means, because as you know, I demand no real word count. So join me by linking up at the end, here, and share with us your heart. ♥

LORD, I pray, Let my words be few, so that I may hear You.

I found myself in the sin of fear, yet again. Not from any outward danger, rather from the demons within, that plague the Who of Andrea.

I have been confessing, confiding in trusted friends and mentors, my inner self criticism. That internal voice that says, continually, “You are not loved, liked, respected.” … “You are not good enough, see … they correct and admonish you … they tell you how to be, who to be, how to act …”. That laughing voice tells me there is nothing I can ever do to be good enough … and inwardly I cringe and hide in a corner of pain and self loathing.

Wow … did I just say write that!?!

and … as that voice chatters away, I seek God, yet somehow the voice has become a resounding din and it becomes hard to be still and hear God …

but … God, He is faithful … He loves me. In my heart I know this, but the enemy plagues my mind … my thinking … and I begin, yet again, to question … how could such a love be for me … and I enter the sin of unbelief …

Laughingly I believe myself to be a woman of faith … A WOMAN OF FAITH … how could I believe this and feel this way … well …

I do all this afraid, empty, tirelessly, no matter how much I don’t feel. Lean not on your own understanding God’s Word says … and this brings me to my new friend Jennifer and the words from her heart that pulled me up into “feeling” again. I encourage you to read her words: Friend I lean with you, God has used her mightily and I am eternally grateful that He led me to her heart.

In her blog she defined so eloquently, what I had been feeling. Trust me, when you do not understand where you are in You … how or why you “feel” the way you do or don’t … If you trust God … if you diligently seek Him, He will bring you to a place … He will bring you on of HIS GIRLS or guys to give you exactly what you need.

Jennifer’s heart:

“paralyzed by self-critique – so that I cannot even hear His true voice, reminding me how much I am loved, feel His arms around me, holding me to His chest, His hand in mine urging me toward where He plans for us to go, together.”

… paralyzed by self-critique … I’ve paralyzed myself by hearing the voice of that inward loather … the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy … killing my confidence even as God takes my hand … “urging me toward where He planned for us to go …”

I have found the enemy and he is me … adapted from Walt Kelly‘s quote.

US … I am no longer alone. No matter the inward or outward words of an enemy who seeks to paralyze the Andrea God meant me to be …

All those voices hurt my heart … all those words froze the dream that God gave me …

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. ~ Jesus

So joined with Jennifer’s heart I vow … “I will not wish I were more than who You have made me to be, Father.”

I will not wish I were more … because I am exactly who He made me.

I will not believe that I am less than who He made me to be, either. I will crush the words of the loather with the Word of God …

My God who: Fearfully and Wonderfully made me …

Loves … what voice are you listening to? Is the voice loving and kind?

We are not able, in ourselves, to stay true to the genuine creation of God, that we are; without Him … without His Word of encouragement. We are incapable of sustaining a selfless belief that we are the Wonderful He made us … no, we must lean on Him.

Thank you Jennifer … Blessings Loves!

Your turn … see, this was nothing close to a few words … so please write your heart and share it here, with us as Jennifer calls us … HIS Girls! 🙂

Change Your Thinking: Change the World

Change Your Thinking by Maryellen
Smith

“If you can’t change your fate, change your attitude.” – Ralph
Waldo Emerson

At any given point in time, you’re only one thought away from changing your thinking. What thought can you change today?

(Author: Maryellen Smith)

Self Reliance was a writing prompt that was supposed to last 31 days. As you can see it continues far past the announced time frame of the original prompt … so they keep coming.

I found early on that I DID NOT resonate with the prompts. The spent an inordinate amount of the prompts on the same concept, simply worded differently. Like those psych exams I took, when I was a social worker, to see if I had the ability to help others consistently (and let’s be honest, to make sure I wasn’t a sociopath) before I was employed.

Therefore, I really didn’t participate as much as I would have liked to, in the prompts. I did participate, however, when I was able to see the Faith of Emerson’s writing; where it appeared that the people who were running the prompts either did not see it (how that was possible, I don’t know) or chose to ignore it.

Like the prompts and the psych tests … repeating a thing or action over and over does not make it truth. It simply proves insanity!

You know the definition: Insanity is doing (saying) the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome.

Yeah … if you are intelligent (sane) that thinking doesn’t fly. This is a given, as you are sane. 🙂

That (long-winded explanation) being said, I liked this prompt so I will write, because it does not require me to rely upon my …

‘Self Reliance’

… which I am not supposed to do. I am directed to rely upon God‘s knowledge and not my own understanding. We are directed to let go and let God.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

My fate does, most certainly, rely on my thinking (my internal attitude).

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NLT

The only way I change my fate is to change my thinking, and with my thinking changed, I change my attitude.

The bible says:

1Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

If mine is the doctrine of the world … which our first scripture warns against, I become self-reliant. Self reliance, for me, leads to grandiose thinking and reasoning. It leads to an attitude of entitlement and self centeredness. These are the things the world endorses.

“Every man for himself”.

A personal character defect of mine.

When my doctrine becomes the Word of God I become reliant, dependant, upon God, my creator. The Man with the plan; Jeremiah 29:11. I can crawl out of my self thinking and self-exalting and relax, knowing things are being handled at a higher level of thinking …

Isaiah 55:9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

When I change the way I think about where I am today, with the understanding that the plan is God’s, not mine, then I begin to believe His Word as to who, what and why I am.

My attitude becomes that of a loved child who is encouraged to succeed, expected to succeed; therefore I succeed.

My attitude becomes one of the child who is loved and sees the need to give that love out. I know that others, who do not know that they have the backing of the Creator, as I do, need me to extend that UNCONDITIONAL LOVE to them.

Our pastor said somethingdifferently yesterday.  Something I knew as a truth, yet he was able to illuminate it for me, He said:

Compassion much overtake empathy.

I heard this in my Spirit:

“My empathy for you is useless, unless … my compassion for you moves me to action.” This is God thinking … Kingdom thinking.

When I change the way that I think … I change my fate.

When I change my thoughts to God thoughts … I change the world!

The Grace provided in Serenity ♥

few words thursday …Good Morning my friends.

Today I will attempt to describe where I am in regards to Serenity … if you’ve been here on Thursdays before you know the route … if not, WELCOME and feel free to join me … simply click through my surf photo for the (non) rules!

In an earlier post(s) on one or the other of my blogs I have wondered, stressed over or delved into SERENITY. In a recent post I defined it.

Quietude … a condition of the mind, a peacefulness with the status of one’s being right where they are …

There are slogans a many that some will recognize and identify, while others will recognize without knowing the origin of the phrase. Like a comfortable form of de ja vu they will know that they know where to slogan came from, but it will escape them for the moment…

Time takes time…

Pain before Serenity…

Be where you is…

First things first…

We have a choice…

God could and would if He were sought…Sobriety then Serenity…It’s a selfish program…

These are the ones that struck me between the eyes this morning.

I woke up to God re-wording Reinhold’s prayer for me:

God…Has granted me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change…He has granted me the courage to change the things that I can … and He has granted me the WISDOM to know the difference.

[God could and would if He were sought…] Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

[Sobriety then Serenity…] For me it is the Sobriety of Mind … I must work each day [time takes time…] toward sober thinking. Then and only then am I granted, GRACED with COURAGE and WISDOM.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

… a sound mind, self-discipline, good judgement…sobriety of mind!

I just found this!!! It has me a bit excited and now I must find this particular bible …Douay-Rheims Bible

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of sobriety. 2tim1:7

[It’s a selfish program…] For me this one is important because of the world’s view. While the world, society, is into entitlement and hedionism to the enth degree … if a thing is about IMPROVEMENT it is considered “selfish”.

I am entitled to live and indulge as I please as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Right? I am justified in my vengence and revenge if I have been wronged. Right? … society sees these as inaliable rights! When these are rooted in selfishness and self centeredness. The world view tells this society that these are entitlements, rights, yet somehow they are NOT selfish.

Yet, let me improve myself. Let me seperate myself out to recover from the confusion and choas of [my] life. Let positive change and boundaries take hold; changing who I am, and I instantly become …

SELFISH and SELF INVOLVED and SELF CENTERED

When I call out to God in my trial He will only focus on what it is in me that needs fixing!

The disturbance in me … is me!

When I call out to God, begging Serenity … begging Peace … He requires that I fix something in me.

SO… YES … IT IS a self program.

LIFE is a selfish program … Spirituality is a selfish program …

For my life to be about Christ [because it isn’t about me … it IS about Jesus] I must focus on recovering, repairing, fixing the disturbances in ME.

Reinholds prayer is beautiful and cathartic. Yet, when one [I] comes to a place of truly knowing God one must see that the wording is wrong.

When I woke this morning I realized as this prayer whispered it’s request in my soul, my Spirit [My Holy Spirit] rose in me and whispered sweetly …

” Child, I HAVE granted you these things, by the GRACE of MY ONLY SON. Now… take hold of them. Grasp them and embrace them, they are my gift each day.” ~ GOD

How do you seek serenity? What would give you peace today love?

May you know Peace today … the Person Peace … may He walk with you on this path!

God could and would if He were sought…May you find Him now. 🙂

Doing What I Know to Do …

welcome to few words thursday …click the picture to go to the [not so strict] purpose and rules of the ‘fwth’ prompt… 🙂

today i was intrigued by this Self Reliance prompt.

Honestly I was intrigued more by the Emerson quote:

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could.”

I don’t know how to do that. Correction … I am learning how to accomplish this.

Worthwhile Day by Jessica Dang

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you
could.”

What is one thing you can do that would make today worthwhile? What’s
stopping you from getting started right now?

(Author: Jessica Dang)

——————————————————————————————

what is the #1 thing i can do to make today worthwhile?

This was a very sharp, double-edged question today … Easy and terribly difficult, at the same time, particularly today.

The #1 thing I do that makes any day worthwhile is to respond to my Calling … to respond to my day to day … by  writing my LIFE and my HEART in a ministering manner.

That makes my day worth while, in the only true way I know … following the Holy Spirit with my pen {keyboard}, to the heart and spirit of a like-minded person who needs to know what God says about things …

THINGS: meaning our day to day life, as we see in Psalm 138:8

“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”

Other translations say “the Lord perfects that which concerns me…”

Do you know the purpose God has on your life? Do you know your calling?

FYI: Only you and God know what you’ve been called to do, and no one can take that from you …

That is, except [me] YOU.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
the second half of this prompt is:  “what is stopping you from getting started right now?”
Again … that would be me.
Somewhere in the bible it says that satan steals my blessings … and my #1 blessing in this life is God’s Word.
He gave us His Word so that we might exhibit such in our day to day lives and interactions… so that we might SHARE His Word by the telling and example of it in our lives.
Most times we do this through our individual CALLING.
Then the Word says…
2 Timothy 3:16  (MSG)
14-17But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.
Today I am doing my best not to be fazed … and to write. So nothing is preventing me from getting started doing what it is that makes this and all days worthy while.
I am writing. I am sharing the Word, and my heart ,in the hope that it reaches like-minded souls and assists them, as the Holy Spirit and my trusted counsel assist me.
It is what I do … and while I may be hesitant this day, due to God’s correction [see the scripture verse in bold]… God has provided me everything I need to complete this task He has given me.
What stops you from using you calling? How do you overcome the mental or emotional block that stops you from doing what would make your day worth while?
~~~~~~~~~

I read a something this morning that really spoke to me on this subject, even before I read todays prompt.

Lysa TerKeurst’s blog today dealt with a very similar subject … in her blog she wrote something like this …

My choice is whether or not to give away the power to control my emotions.

When I react, rather than respond, I give away the power to control [my] self, because of the emotion of the situation.

~ when I react to something, I respond and communicate through my emotions, and I have been taught not to respond while I am in an emotional state….there is a popular slogan that speaks to this emotion thing quite well and  some will recognize it quite well:

don’t think … don’t drink … go to a meeting

In instances like these it is the don’t think that is vital. Drinking is not a concern any longer and I go to meetings frequently to maintain sober mindedness and sober behavior.

When I react I give someone or something else power over me.

Void of Power = Void of [self] Control.

Therein, my friends lies both my problem and my solution.

So today I thank God for the work He is doing in me. It always amazes me that He, our Omnipotent Creator, takes the time to …

Perfect what concerns me … even the writing down of my thoughts.

Simply Amazing Faithfulness!
