Memory Verses for Prayer and Healing | Day27:31Days

Memory Verses

Memory Verses

Throughout my walk with God and in The Faith I’ve loved the scripture verse, John 14:20 . The Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

It’s comforting to know that Father God sent to us, even after the sacrifice of His Son, someone to guide us and remind us about what God says about life here on earth. The Holy Spirit is sent to comfort us with reminders that no matter what, God said this.

That was the basic sermon of our Sunday service this last Sunday! Learning not to be deceived by what others say, write or instruct. All those things are wonderful and very often someone’s testimony; but is it what God is saying to me today? Or was it for that person and simply meant to be a testimony for us to learn to turn to God’s word for our instruction, blessings and promises?

Those books, those testimonies are to draw us into God … not the person who shared the testimony! I am not going to get closer to God or His plan for me by hanging on to your testimony. Your testimony, my testimony is to show the work of God through me … How He changes the world USING me, His lowly daughter … just plain Andrea.

My testimony should direct you to Him and His Word. Why read my blog and forgo God’s Word. If you read anything past this sentence today please let it be God’s Word on your situation! That  said …

I follow this particular advise I’m giving you today. I turn to God’s Word, I memorize scripture that is Him speaking directly to and about my current situations.

YES! A 2014 year old book speaks directly to my circumstances today! And I’ve studied enough that when I hear a word or conversation it brings scripture to my remembrance.

My experience with God on that ER gurney 5 years ago started with a scripture rising up in my spinning head. Ezekiel 36:26

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

God spoke to me, as if in a dream-state, within the context of that scripture. Now, yes, I enjoy God actually speaking to me directly. I garnered this privilege by being one of His most stubborn and thickheaded daughters. I also believe I received this privilege because when I had my first encounter with Him I was young and need the tangible voice. I feel truly blessed by this particular level of intimacy with the Father; while I know that for some it is disturbing or seems untrue, I assure you it is neither.

The Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance what we’ve put in … I encourage you today to use God’s Words, those verses that speak to you, open up within you, when your read them. That opening or expanding sensation you get when God speaks to you through His Word is revelation and knowledge and wisdom … one or any combination therein.

It feels alive to me. And that’s because the Word is alive, a living representation of God’s love for us! So as a starter, to assist in the healing of any area or ailment in your life here are a few amazing healing verses for you to start with. I firmly encourage you to take these verses and read them in your bible. If you don’t own a bible yet go to Biblegate.com and start to read there. You can use any version you like and you can even have it read it to you!

Memory Verses for Healing –

Read these, Pray these back to Father … He will respond directly to you! Keep them in your Remembrance and Holy Spirit will send them when you are in need of them!

John 4:4 {Greater is He…}

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Isaiah 53:5 { By His stripes we were healed … note the “were”}

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Psalm 118:17 {The original Speak Life verse!}

I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

and one more for now …

Luke 5:17 {The power of the Lord is present to heal YOU!}

One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.

I encourage you, go now and read these scriptures and the whole story around them … write them down and repeat them when you are feeling the ill effects of the ailment that pains you. Let the understanding wash over you … like in this last one: it so powerfully opens up the truth for me!

THE POWER OF THE LORD IS PRESENT TO HEAL!

I know, it’s my revelation knowledge, but I can promise you it’s my knowledge that God is with me right now, present and healing because I did what I am encouraging you to do right now. I felt pain, I ran to the Word and read what God said … and there is no where in the bible, that I’ve found, where it says that God was present in my illness. The Word only says He is present, He is willing, He is speaking, MY HEALING.

Make this Yours today! Blessing to you and thank you for reading.

Praying Healing Psalms For a Friend and All Things | FMF & 31 days: day 17

God is LIMITLESS Love

God is LIMITLESS Love

Today’s Prompt for 5 Minute Friday: LONG. Go.

The Psalms are filled with {mostly} David’s desperate cries for help, healing and deliverance! We often long for God to help us, heal us or deliver us. Be for all that longing we neglect sometimes to pray … to cry out our petitions.

David, before and after becoming King David, was one of God’s favorites. Even, as He sinned, in his human-ness God referred to this son of His as “A man after My own heart.”

Well I am here to tell YOU that that is true of each one of us today. We are His favorite, You are His favorite, I am His favorite!

“How?!”

You ask.

Well, it’s because He is LIMITLESS … His very essence is LIMITLESS … His Love for us is LIMITLESS!

We, in our human-ness, put God in a box. A box infinitely smaller than God, in all of His LIMITLESSNESS.

Like small children, we cannot fathom the limitlessness of this Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Infinite God; nor can we fathom that His love for us has those same qualities.

But He DOES!

He DOES!

I find deep and visceral comfort in that. I long for you to feel this, too.

I am writing this particular post after being inspired by a good friend’s struggle today. By this friends perseverance in staying in God’s Word and His presence, today.

This person is struggling with something deeply tragic and emotional; and while that is going on they are doing their level best to stay in God’s Word and presence, today; while feeling like they cannot even breath for the pain and fear. I wanted my friend to know that God LOVES them and while the circumstances are what they are, and regardless of the fact that they cannot seem to feel Him as close, today, that God is, in fact, right there with them.

This is one of those Jesus moments for this friend; that test that reaches within one, viscerally, and actually, when all is said and done, proves within one’s Spirit and Mind that God’s is ALWAYS faithful to His children and His promises.

I have experienced this Jesus moment on several occasions just this year. So I know it is what my friend is experiencing right now. My friend has described, in short, feelings and emotions and fears that I have felt many times this year.

Yet, I came to a place where when my limits on God were destroyed, I became assured of the vastness of His love for me, deeply and permanently. I want that assurance for my friend; for all my friends and loved ones. For everyone.

That place? True Serenity!

The psalmist realized the limitations of man and recognized the limitlessness of God. He expressed these concepts in Psalms 139:7-12: “Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there, If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there, If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Thy hand will lead me, And Thy right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,’ Even the darkness is not dark to Thee, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee.” (from: God’s Limitlessness).

So, as I cry out to God for my healing, { You changed my mourning into dancing. You took off my funeral clothes and dressed me up in joy so that my whole being might sing praises to you and never stop. = healing} I’ve added my friend and others in intercession …

I cried out to you, Lord.
I begged my Lord for mercy:
“What is to be gained by my spilled blood,
by my going down into the pit?
Does dust thank you?
Does it proclaim your faithfulness?
Lord, listen and have mercy on me!
Lord, be my helper!”
You changed my mourning into dancing.
You took off my funeral clothes
and dressed me up in joy
so that my whole being
might sing praises to you and never stop.
Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever. {AMEN} — Psalm 30:8-12

Stop!

What is it today that you need God to heal or deliver you from; what do you long for? I encourage you to pray God’s scriptures; pray what He says about your situation today. I have found and can testify to the fact that praying God’s scriptures to Him never fails.

HE.NEVER.FAILS.

God bless.

Healing Prayer … getting The Word In | 31 Days: 16

Rx - The Word of God

Rx – The Word of God

It’s October 16th and we have 16 days left in this challenge of 31 Days of Writing.

Yesterday I rededicated my focus on God and getting His healing Word in. Thinking about it more, I wanted to the next 16 days to be  full of scriptural healing prayers. Surrendering my doubts and fears to God and filling up on His healing words.

So I went about researching His healing bible verses and found this, on Belief Net.com: Healing Bible Verses. Researching bible verses has become easier with Google, for sure! But don’t forget, it is important to read before and after any scripture to receive full understanding. Full understanding of what God is saying is pertinent. =)

Lord,

I am Your child, I am and will continue to be attentive to Your words;
to Your sayings I will incline my ear.
I will not allow them to  escape from my sight;
I will keep them in the midst of my heart.
For they are life to those of us who find them
and healing to our entire body.
With all vigilance, I will keep my heart,
for from it comes the source of life. Amen

Proverbs 4:19-23

This is my beginning prayer, today.  I will continue to pray scripture, today, because if there’s anything I learned on this walk with my Lord it is that praying His Word never fails. These words are His will … they are His promises, unsullied by my thoughts or ideas or interpretations. It is the Word He inspired in Solomon {who is said to have written most of the Book of Proverbs} to share with us. As most know Proverbs are a guide book, depicting clearly the right and wrong ways to live this life. There is incredible guidance in this book.

I pray that these coming 16 prayers might get into your heart for healing. No matter what that healing is … Spirit {Heart}, Mind {Thought and Reasoning} or Body {Physical}.

Tell me, if you would, what healing do you need prayer for today … tomorrow? Let me know in the comments and I will share and pray healing prayers with you, for you, because I believe when we intercede for others our own healing is manifest.

I saw this quote recently, author unknown.

All Christians are called to prayer, for intercession.

Won’t you allow me to pray for you today. =)

Sunday Healing (2) | 31days:12

Sunday … truly a day of healing. Especially during praise and worship … That’s when the Holy Spirit decides to show up and join us. That moment when individually or corporately we are truly exalting His name; when we truly recognize His presence within us. We call this the manifest presence of God … that moment when God shows up and the Spirit is truly upon you.

That presence upon me gives me a sense of healing of health … I recognize it as something I should feel all day everyday … that feeling of complete wholeness of health … Spirit mind and body. And then I think, deeply and viscerally thankful … Who am I? This overweight, can’t control my stress eating woman; who knows the clinical reasons for doing the right thing by my health but cannot seem, these days, to get a grip on it.  Who am I that the God of the Universe should be mindful of me or care for me?

Then I remember that the Creator of the Universe is My Father and He loves me! =) And then … I feel that sense of wholeness again. I am learning how to retain that … maybe I just need to remember that He loves me and praise Him in that continually.

Psalm 8:3-5

I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous,
    your handmade sky-jewelry,
Moon and stars mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self and wonder,
Why do you bother with us?
Why take a second look our way?

Yet we’ve so narrowly missed being gods,
    bright with Eden’s dawn light.
You put us in charge of your handcrafted world,
    repeated to us your Genesis-charge,
Made us lords ….

Psalm 8: 3-8

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

Thank you for reading.

A Religion that is pure … Care|31day:10 & FMF

Welcome, once again! It’s Friday, which means I write for Five Minute Friday and 31 Days. On Friday’s this month I am doing my best to combine both into Kate’s Friday Prompt. =) Kate is definitely making it easy for me so far! If you’d like to join the 1000s, yes, I said THOUSANDS of writers participating in these Writing Challenges simply follow the buttons displayed at the end of this (and all the 31) post(s).

Today’s Prompt is Care. Something I am VERY familiar with.

Go.

Taking Care

Taking Care

A religion that is pure and stainless according to God the Father is this: to take care of orphans and widows who are suffering, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.  – James 1:27

I am a natural born caretaker, God built me for it; and for many years I actually resented it. Particularly when I was called to care for family members, a few at the same time!

Care-taking is very stressful, tiring, draining …. and on and on. Yet when it’s a calling, a vocation, it can also be VERY fulfilling. If we let it, if we understand it, but only if we take all the measure necessary to care for ourselves at the same time.

I began caring for others at a very young age. My mother was, let’s say ill when I was a child, and I had to grow up. She still struggles and suffers today. I cared for her, my siblings and our home. And I was VERY young to be that old, but there was really no other option.

Caring for others came naturally to me.

Since then I’ve cared for many. In my late teens I became a CNA and worked on the “crazy” floor; I loved it. I went on from there to become a social worker working with low income families, their children, and the developmentally disabled, until I retired. Burnt out.

But God …. He was just preparing me for the most difficult jobs of my vocation.

Family.

My family has been  a difficult relationship for me over the years. I know, boohoo, everyone’s had issues in their families. But some familial relationships are most definitely more difficult and forgive me, more damaging, than others. I HAD to spend years getting over trying to please the un-pleasable, see and love them as God does, and just simply set boundaries that kept me, and my immediate family, safe from the chaos … I can’t even venture to explain this in 5 short minutes.

If a widow has family members to take care of her, let them learn that religion begins at their own doorstep and that they should pay back with gratitude some of what they have received. This pleases God immensely. – 1 Timothy 5:4

This scripture includes: fathers and grandparents and sisters and brothers!

Currently I have charge of my grandmother, who now lives in a nursing facility, and she’s very unhappy; my dad who has lived alone by choice, since I was 4; and I help my sister who is the closest in proximity to my mother who continues to live with, let’s say, many health issues.

Let me not forget who I care for here in Hutchland … The Hubs of course, but we are a working team. I just have to see to it that he takes care of himself – not an easy thing! Right ladies? Even when healthy some of our men need us to straighten out the crooked things sometimes.

And my youngest, who battles addiction. He’s a hard one sometimes. Tough love and support goes on daily here in Hutchland, but he’s overcoming! Praise God.

STOP.

Forgive me the indulgence as I finish this post? I’ll be as short as this heart allows me!

Care-taking takes a LOT out of a person. Therefore we must “keep oneself unstained by the world.” (James1:)

I had to set those boundaries I spoke about. I had to learn that “pure religion”. I had to come to the knowledge that this is one of my God required callings. Therefore I had to learn to care for myself. The alternative was to begin thinking like the world, and asking what was in this for me! Yes, be honest, we all do this at times and if we are deeply rooted in our faith we correct ourselves quickly … but we think these things, even ask God “WHY Me?!” when we forget to care for ourselves. We care-takers must learn this so that we can continue to care for our loved ones.

I battled. I truly did, with the resentment that the people (not the Hubs or the kiddo) God was, obviously, requiring that I care for, were the very people who did not care for me as a child. Who, sometimes still, do not know me until they need me. And as of today they pretty much need me all the time. I had to put that resentment aside and love them like God loves them; see them like Father sees them.

See them like Father sees ME! Oh my, that was a humbling experience. A God Lesson!

OM goodness! SEE THEM LIKE HE SEES ME! That was a true revelation. That was that relationship, that unconditional relationship of love. I had to do that!

Well, by His Grace alone, He showed me how. Because HONESTLY I was completely incapable of those unconditional relationships without Him! We all are, actually, but I was I had some serious, and not unreasonable (in a worldly way), conditions!

Thank goodness He is faithful to this girl.

I said all this to get across that “Pure Religion” isn’t religion at all; it’s RELATIONSHIP. It’s love that forgives and cares for others, always and no matter what.

Because of these lessons I enjoy relationships with those family members that is unique in our family. At a time that is crucial in their lives. And my life is richer for it.

As the Word says … Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. (Psalm 55:22).

He did it for me … how much more will He do it for you?

So what are your cares today? Share them with us … Thanks for reading. =)

Breathe…A Five Minute Friday Post

What can you write in 5 minutes…while that 2nd cup of coffee brews…while you wait for the weather report…the traffic report

We Spend much too much time seeking a perfection that frustrates our very fiber, and if we write…Well EVERY WORD teases us with it’s desire to be profound and edifying…Each sentence desperately needs to be informative, with tools and tricks to improve…

But what if we simply wrote, for 5 insignificant minutes…300 minute seconds…

WHAT IS ON THE HEART…THE MIND…

WHAT IF WE WROTE FOR US…ABOUT US…WHAT WOULD THAT CALM WITHIN A SPIRIT…

Today we join the gypsy mama…and other amazingly profound 5 minute writers…and simply share 5 minutes of ourselves!

                    The rules are simple…
Write your heart out for five minutes and show us what you’ve got.
Tell your readers you’re linking up here, on gypsymama’s blog, and invite them to play along.
And most importantly, go visit, read, and encourage the fellow five-minuter who linked up right before you.
                    {Pretty please turn off word verification for the day to make this easier!}

A HOPEannFAITH suggestion: Consider the prompt and write your 5 minutes before reading any fellow five-minuter’s post so that your five-minute gem is all your own!

Wisteria Watercolor

OK, are you ready? Give your best five minutes for the prompt:

Deep Breath…GO!

Morning breaks with a deep breath…the aroma of fresh coffee brewing wafts in on the colder than cool spring breeze through the lace curtains…Stretching, the salty breeze slowly fill the very cells of the belabored lungs that did not rest enough…

The morning sounds soothe the spirit and slow the labored breath with continual prayers of thanksgiving…Breathing in the presence of God and a hot cup of joe, while searching for a devotional that speaks to the spirit…

Breathe…in and out…on prayers of gratefulness for the morning sun streaming through the floating curtains…for the snoring of a resistant to mornings soul…Breath as you caress the well loved face of your love to awake…

Breath as this day the Lord has made begins…another…with the stresses and concerns. Embracing it’s joys and laughter…

Breathe deeply the scents and essesence of a life…well lived.

STOP!

Blessings Loves! Have a Wonderful Week…

My Quest for Flavor! a food on friday carnival post “)

Food on Friday Carnival hosted by Ann Kroeker

My Quest for Flavor

Psalm 22:26 “The poor will eat and be satisfied; they who seek the LORD will praise him— may your hearts live forever!”Since June 2, 2010, when doctors pronounced that there were dire heart issues to contend with I have been on a quest for Whole wellness. This quest has led to some severe dietary and lifestyle changes. As if that were not difficult and frustrating enough, I had to remove salt from my diet. That was the instruction from the first cardiologist at the first hospital.Since going to Deborah there has been a bit of improvement on the seasoning side of my diet! Dr. Ambrose, a fellow cardiologist at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, told me I could have 2,000 milligrams or 2 grams of sodium a day. Just under the RDA guidelines by 4,000 milligrams. This means about 3/4 of a teaspoon of table salt, a day, give or take a granule! S, I continue to not use the salt while cooking or added at meal times. This allows me two things, as I see them, and ALLOWED, is a great thing!1. It gives me a way to find healthier salt in natural foods, like parmesan cheese, and other cheeses to flavor my meals, (in moderation of course).

2. When I eat out or at a friend’s home, they nor I must worry about how to season a meal.

With that said, with the help of my Chef, Cook and Foodie friends, here and abroad, thanks to FaceBook, I have found some very interesting ways to take my meals from Beige to Bright!

The Flavor Beige

Thanks to Laureen, Claudia, Dorothy, Valeen and Brenda…and all my other girls, who support and encourage me too! Ladies you are the bomb!

…Much Love to you all!

I went shopping just yesterday, buying an array of different foods than has been the norm in the past. My youngest, adult son, came out from putting away the last of the food complaining in a 16-year-old fashion, “…there’s nothing to eat!”. As much as some things stay the same, you would hope that a young adult would be a little less childish in this area, by 23! :D…”all you bought was meat, fruit and 2% milk! What happened to the whole milk?”

His complaint was really that everything had to be cooked. There was no processed foods or “microwavables” in the house! Oh well, he has a job!

I have successfully found that seasoning foods to have a salt like bite is quite easy.See what rising above the frustration can do!
Lemon is great for a salad, fish, chicken and even a new thing I found called Citrus Rice. I also, at a birthday party for a friend last weekend, got a quick recipe for Cold Corn Salad, apparently it’s great on hot dogs? I don’t know because I no longer eat hotdogs. Didn’t really eat them before, either, but for some reason I  began a new “wanting of things” that I  didn’t want even when there were no restrictions. Anyway,  made with sweet corn, sweet red bell peppers, white or vadalia onion and Hellman’s Mayonaise Lite, cold corn salad begs for  a bit of salty, to it. What to do? What to do?
LIME! The juice of one small lime gives this salad just enough bite and the latin feel this salad begs for! Delicious. Thanks for that recipe from Jen’s step-mom, Maria.

Then  there is my Greek Yogurt fetish! More protein than conventional American yogurt, less salt and full of flavor this treat is a filling and delicious breakfast choice. Having tried all the varieties, Oikos, Chobani and even Yoplait’s newest version. My grocer finally stocked Fage (FA-yea) Total. This is the greek style yogurt that the Greeks stock in their fridges!

With the texture of cheese cake and a good fruit compote greek yogurt is decadence without the dietary problems!  Better yet, I found quite on accident, that the plain with a table-spoon of Polaner All Fruit is even better than some of the flavors! Right there I control the fat, calories and sugar intake in my breakfast! And I actually like the sugar-free all fruit. 🙂

A small modicum of control over my diet at last! ((((Yay!!!)))) for me!

Then there is the first suggestion I received from my friend Dorothy, from Ireland, finely minced garlic! This gem of a trick (and why I didn’t know, this I don’t know) adds a nice salt like bite to eggs, sauces and soups! Having a family recipe for Spaghetti Sauce, or gravy if you prefer, I always followed the smidge here and 2 cloves there direction, which is now just a knowing. Well,  about 3 finely minced cloves gives the salty bite, while the 2 sliced, added as well, provides the proper balance of garlic flavor, basil and oregano and you are good to go. Italian style!

Dorothy and Laureen also gave me the Hot Sauce suggestion, and at about the same time I was considering it. On eggs and in rice or soups just a few drops will do you! Add while cooking is the trick to avoiding the really hot sensation of using hot sause as a topical seasoning;  your eggs and soup will have the flavor you desire without the excess sodium. Finding the balance, may be a bit tricky if you don’t like spicy hot. FYI: some believe that hot sauce and hot peppers kick start one’s metabolism! Good to know if you like spicy foods.

Vibrant Flavor

There it is. My diet rescue! All it took was putting an end to my pity party and some experimentation in the kitchen, which I enjoy, because I like to cook. Here I thought my Joy of Cooking was over. Not so.
Brown rice and grains are my next venture.

Wild Rice is what I am in search of. I should say, inexpensive wild rice. At my local grocer (Shop Rite) a box, for a single meal is $8.95! Out of my range, for sure. My husband’s  response when I teared up at the grocery store was, “Wow! That wild rice must be really hard to catch!” Poor guy! At the time the humor didn’t work, but it’s funny now. 🙂  All of the processed rice that contain wild rice are incredibly high in sodium, too.

I really wish we had a Whole Foods store here in Central New Jersey!

A new friend, Brenda, brought me a grain called Teff, from Ethiopia, the tiniest grain on earth. The word “teff” is derived from the *Amharic “teffa” which translates as lost. Due to its tiny size, teff can easily be lost if dropped!
*Semitic language spoken in North Central Ethiopia.

One of my dearest friends, Valeen, a former vegetarian who still strives for healthy eating, suggested Barley as a change-up for cereal and side dishes that were healthier. Made with sauted garden tomatoes, garlic, onions and mushrooms cooked into a rice or couscous consistency, topped with good shaved parmesan cheese, the barley was a hit. Next I am going to add it to fresh made soup tomorrow.

Whole Grain Goodness

So lunch today, I now eat 4 to six smaller meals a day, was European style. Now these Europeans are lean and healthy, at least on tv, right. 3 Wasa crackers (low cal. and low sodium), with cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses, peach all fruit and a medium bunch of grapes, and a half cup of coffee. Delicioso!

You would be surprised at the satisfaction of flavor in this small meal. As well as how surprisingly good cheddar and peach preserves taste together, another wonderful accident!

So far I’ve lost 48 pounds in 4 months and still losing. I hit a  plateau, at 46 pounds, about two weeks ago, so I removed another white food from my diet; white potatoes. Dorothy says they are poison! 😀 I don’t know about that, but removing them from my diet jump started my weight loss again. I lose, on average, 1.6 pound a week now and my goal is 2 pounds a week.

At this rate of loss I can lose 100 pounds or more by the start of next summer, Praise God! Really, Praise God, because obedience and the Word of God have made much of this much easier to accomplish. All of my success has come from God honoring my obedience and faith in Him to finish what He began in me!

My next venture is the health food stores! On goes my quest!

Stick with me girls (and guys) we gonna be getting healthy!

Blessings Loves!…
