Blessed in the trial … T@T & FW Thursday Combined

Hello again.

As you’ve notice my posts have been few lately … our day to day here in Hutchland is very busy. Unfortunately The Hubs has been quite ill with the effects of this first week of round 4 of chemo … 18 months and these last several months have been the worst of his discomfort in all of the 18.

That said … Tuesday at Ten has worked itself into my “blog thing” Few Words Thursday … check it out  ☇  here.

by your words ... FWThLet my words be few on Thursday didn’t really turn into a thing … I would love it too, but hey, gotta get others interested right.

So Karen’s prompt was God speaking to me … He’s been in constant, intimate contact here in Hutchland for about a week. Well, strike that, He is always here … the past week He’s shown us His face. AMAZING BLESSING right there! And that leads to the prompt ….

Blessed

Fulfill Your Vow to God ~ Ecclesiates 5:1-3

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
    to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
    and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
A dream comes when there are many cares,
and many words mark the speech of a fool.

Blessed in the trial … we’ve seen much in the last 18 months; much of it you can read about if you go and read my other posts over that time. What I’ve come to KNOW and TRUST is that God has been with me always. Not just when I need. Not just when I want.

I’ve been blessed with ALWAYS, and so have you. And it amazes me that I ever didn’t know this and that sometimes, in my human-ness, I even forget it … How does that happen?

Peace and Hope ~ Romans 5:1-6

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

When I was 5, and again when I was 19, I literally, physically saw Jesus and He spoke to me. I KNEW that I was blessed to have these encounters, yes even at 5, yet I remained on the same path … but then, God knew I would …

Over the last 18 months there have been blessings after blessings … financial, gifts, jobs and better pay, provision, protection and most notably … healing! God healed The Hubs’ lung; the cancer is no longer there, but it moved and we are currently dealing with that …

And then there’s today! YES today … the blessing of the manifest presence of God!

The Hubs didn’t sleep last night … I woke up to his anger and frustration and the statement that “God was all over me last night … He wouldn’t leave me alone … I begged Him to just let me sleep.”

My heart leapt with joy … (this is supposed to be Few Words! See, I’m not good at that! Hahaha) God was breaking Job right here in front of me. I just prayed, feeling blessed to be used as The Hubs helpmate in life, thanking God for softening this already God fearing man’s heart. The Hubs knew that was what was going on, too.

You see there are many ways to be blessed and not all of them have anything to do with what we think should or want to be. In fact it is often the case that our blessings are nothing we thought or dreamed of. This is often the reason people think that God sometimes does not answer prayers. God always answers … we just don’t always hear him, or more often, don’t like the answer.

Some of the best blessings in my life were seemingly unanswered prayers!

The blessing today, in this physical trial of our family, is the refining of a man, a faithful, Godly man. Like Job this trial is chipping scales of the world away until there is only God and the man and a new understanding of who that man is in Christ.

I am blessed to be completely unlike Job’s wife and I am supporting and praying for this man to burst forth, completely healed and restored in Christ ready for the path ahead of us, that God had planned from before the foundations of the earth.

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ ~ Ephesians 1:3-10

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace  that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,  he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

Yes, there is cancer. Yes, one son is incarcerated because of how his addiction took over his life. Yes, there are trials and tragedy … everyone has them …

But GOD … those blessings are the manifest presence of [presents from] God. Letting us know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that He is right there beside us …

Always. Blessed.

Thanks for stopping by again, sweet reading friends. Great blessings to you today.

Dreams & Desires ~ How they are fulfilled.

Over at Finding the Grace Within the Tuesday at Ten’s Prompt this week is Dream … and I ponder, and I wonder …

Eternity

Lately I’ve had odd dreams. Caused, I am sure, by the late hours I keep and the early mornings that we have in getting to The Hub’s treatments which started again this week. Five days a week once a month … actually 6 days if you count the ride up the Monday after for the Neulasta shot.

That said, those are not the dreams I will be talking about today.

I want to address how dreams can be altered by circumstances in our lives. And quite frankly how we, here in Hutchland, don’t allow that.

Those who live outside of God or faith or religion, however you term it [though all those terms are truly separate from one another] run to the wrong places and people when their dreams are threatened by someone, something or circumstances. They cling to their dreams while believing, in that shattered way, that their dream is unattainable due to these outside forces.

However, I am here to testify that one’s dreams and aspirations are from our Father Creator and cannot be “shattered” or “stolen” unless we allow them to; and we allow them to slip through our hands because we don’t trust the source of those dreams. Or because we don’t [either by ignorance or choice] have a fully mature relationship with our Father Creator.

He gives us those dreams. Those precious desires of our heart. So that we will fulfill our divine destinies.

That said …

Some would think that our dreams had been shattered 18 months ago with the cancer diagnosis, but they were not. We don’t accept the unacceptable here in Hutchland. The cancer is a trial, a diagnosis …

But God ….

More Than Conquerors translates to Huper Nikos in the Greek.

Romans 8:31

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? [to cancer and doctors proclamations] If God is for us, who can be against us?

Our dreams and our future are in God’s hands. God put our desires and our dreams into us and they cannot be shattered by the enemy … unless we allow it [like I said previously]. And then, isn’t that us shattering them?

Don’t get me wrong I focus on only one dream these days … but it’s the same dream I embarked on over 5 years ago when I asked God to remove anything from me that was not of him. That dream, that request has grown to encompass the whole family and our lives … things are being removed.

*obesity

*heart issues

*addictions

*cancer

*lack

I asked for ….

Healing. Wholeness. Complete Health.

Just a heads up … Be sure you’re ready for change when you ask God to do something or to fulfill your dreams. He searches our hearts and when we’re found truly ready and willing for refinement, he answers that prayer. The results are no less than painful and so much more. A true refinement begins.

1 Peter 1:6-8

A Living Hope
…In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,…

Jeremiah 17:10

I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.

Psalm 37:3-5

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

You see … Dreams are one of the ways God guides us to our purpose; and we live on purpose here in Hutchland. We asked for healing and complete divine health and those things that were not of God are being removed for God’s glory.

Now we don’t know what the future holds, but we do know who holds that future in His hands, and we believe Him.

Please Note: I said we BELIEVE God. I didn’t say we believe in God … He’s not a fairy tale or a story that we fantasize  is real. We know Him to be a tangible part of our lives and we trust and believe Him and His Word and at His Word.

He’s brought many dreams to fulfillment for us. Some little and unassuming and some HUGE and fantastic.

All dreams. All prayers and desires. All fulfilled … You may know them as blessings.

By any other name they are God working in our lives.

What dreams do you have today?

Have you brought them to God or have you trusted them to man? … Well, let me know, because that my dear readers is a post coming soon to HopeAnnFaith Blog!

Thanks for stopping by and as always Blessings to you and yours.

He Gave … He Came …

He Gave ... He Came ... John 3:16-17

He Gave …
He Came …
John 3:16-17

Give … ’tis The Season.

The Greatest Gift of All.

Christmas … a season of giving. I want to tell you a story. So get that cup of tea {or coffee.}, settle in comfortably.

Are you comfortably? Ready? Let’s begin … =)

God gave us, His children, the best gift we will ever receive. He gave us this gift because He loved us so much He sought to reconcile each and everyone of us to Himself.

This is not my story. I copied the biblical version from Biblegateway.com; because I felt it needed to be told correctly. This story is so very important to humanity and it’s been told and retold countless times that I didn’t want to diminish it with my “version”.

I give to you the story of Father’ giving to us, all.

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:11-14

Christ’s Birth Announced to Mary

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JesusHe will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.  Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.  For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Mary, then went to visit her cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant. They rejoiced in their visit and the magnitude of Mary’s pregnancy. Even, Elizabeth’s child (John, the Baptist) rejoice within the womb.

The Song of Mary

 And Mary sang:

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.”

And Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months, and returned to her house.

Christ Born of Mary

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Glory in the Highest

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”  And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.  Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.  And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.  But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.  Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Today, I give you the true story of Christmas. The truth of the season and why we give one another gifts each year at this time. Some would say we are not celebrating Christ’s true birth date, but let me submit to you that it hardly matters to God, the Father or to Jesus, His Only Son, when we celebrate Jesus. It only matters that we celebrate Him and what He did for us …

So this year, I choose to give JOY … Give Joy

The very thing we need here in the earth. The very thing we need here in Hutchland.

JOY TO THE WORLD! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to ALL!

Thanks for reading my dear friends and God Bless You.

Trusting God in the Face of Fear @ 10

God's Got This Welcome.

Today I’m joining my writing/blogging friends over at Karen’s Finding the Grace Within’s Tuesday at Ten writing prompt.

Here writers creatively represent the word prompt that Karen gives us at 10 am and then we all connect with one another {HERE}. There aren’t any real rules, no word limit or time limit … just one heart connecting with the prompt and sharing their thoughts with the others.

Today we ponder what the word FEAR means in our lives, right here and right now …

So join us by following the link above or the one at the bottom of this post.

Fear. We all encounter it in our day to day lives. From the little worries like being on time or not missing that call from a friend to the larger more daunting fears that involve life and death!

For me it’s no longer about the fear … In the past I feared everything from making someone mad to really doing something very wrong. It created a vicious cycle of anxiety, which my family sees as an illness. It’s not!

Cancer is an illness. Addiction is an illness. Fear is NOT an illness, we control fear. It says so in the bible.

There are two types of fear described in the Good Book of the Good News! Remember that … it’s the GOOD News, you can always trust it’s guidance.

Fear of the Lord.

Fear of the Lord gives us authority and allows us to trust God in the face of the spirit of fear, which strips us of our authority and is brought by the enemy of our soul.

The spirit of fear is NOT of God.

Fear, or REVERENCE {to have a reverential awe of (fear God)} of the Lord, is about respecting God, as you would a father.

[Now if your earthly father wasn’t the greatest, or you were actually afraid of your biological dad, stay with me.]

God, Himself, was His original template of who and what a father was supposed to be. All loving, strong security and steady guidance for His children.

This Fear [of the Lord] is beneficial to us and brings with it promises and blessings. The bible says it is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding to all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever {Psalm 111:10}. It leads to life, rest, peace and contentment and evil will not visit {Proverbs 19:23}. This Fear [of the Lord] is the fountain of life {Proverbs 14:27} and provides security in a place of safety {Proverbs 14:26}.

Good News, right!  =)

If we respect God as our Father Creator, and follow His guidance for our lives, we benefit as any child who accepts guidance and correction from good parents. Think about it, we only fear what our parents feared, for the most part. If time and appearances were of concern {a type of fear} to our parents, then we grow up to be concerned about time and appearances. But dig this!

Our Father God, repeatedly, tells us to FEAR NOT, because He has given us the tools of authority over fear.

We control fear. Fear does NOT control us.

Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. {Psalm 27:3}

The second kind of fear in the bible is described to us in guidance.

We are told that God didn’t give us this spirit of fear.

 God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. {2 Timothy 1:7}

There it is, the guiding reminder that we were given: Power, Love and a SOUND mind.

(remember I said that fear leads to anxiety and people see anxiety as an illness today?)

We have a SOUND MIND.

Fear is a real thing. It is what we do in the face of this fear that matters most. Do we conquer or fall in defeat to fear?

I choose to conquer fear, and trust me, today, this very moment, I have enough going on in my life that if I allowed the fear [of the unknown results] of my circumstances I could easily curl up into a ball of tearful fear and anxiety and never see the light of day. In fact, when I think about this, even at this moment, I feel fearful of that possibility.

I prefer my Sound Mind!

How do I conquer these fears? Fear of cancer, of addiction, of my happy life changing severely, of not knowing what my life could possibly look like if the worst happened?

I. Trust. God.

I. Pray. ~ and I pray scripture.

1 John 4:18 says: Perfect Love casts out all fear. {God is Love.}

God promises me; ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed {another form of fear}, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’.{Isaiah 41:10}

The overwhelming truth is that I must FEAR NOT.

Did you ever notice that when we are spinning with fear we don’t allow anyone to help; that we resist those that would be with us and uphold us! God knew we would do this and clearly instructs His children not to fear … to …

Be Still … and know that He is God. {Psalm46:10}

Isn’t it interesting that the “scary Old Testament” God continually told His creation to FEAR NOT. He clearly wanted us to ALWAYS know that He was with us and was our protector, even from the very beginning.

So, as Franklin D. Roosevelt said, in his First Inaugural Address: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself,”

Do not fear God, reverence and trust Him. Only fear fear; it’s not from God.

It is said, much too often, “give it to God”, and I must say it took a lot for me to completely come to an understanding of that Christian cliché. When I finally came to a true understanding of and relationship with God I changed how I used that friendly, if not dismissing, cliché to …

Bring it to God. If you are afraid today. If you harbor what seems to be uncontrollable anxiety in your day to day life. Bring your cares to God. Compare what you are afraid of to what God says about that thing in His book. Present it, as I do, to Him in prayer and just watch what He does to quell that fear within you. He will wipe it away, I promise.

BE STILL.

FEAR NOT.

BE COURAGEOUS.

GOD’S GOT THIS.

Come walk with me, and fear not, God is always with us!

Thanks for reading and God bless.

Seek He tells us. I will God.

SeekSeek

He tells us to seek His kingdom first. Matthew 6:33

He tells us to seek His righteousness. Matthew 6:33

He tells us to seek Him with all our heart and soul. Deutoronomy 4:29

He tells us to seek Him in the morning. Proverbs 8:17

He says if we seek Him and pray to Him He will hear us.

Jeremiah 29:12-14

He says if we seek Him we will want for nothing good. Psalm 34:10

He says that blessed are those that keep His testimonies and seek Him with a whole heart. Psalm 119:2

****

I vow to seek Him in all things. It’s all I’ve got. It’s all that works. Life today is not doing what I want it to and I stand before Him disappointed in what I see and hear. I seek Him for solace and for serenity in this testing journey my love and I are on. I seek peace and comfort in what is. I seek calm and patience in what I have no control over. I seek Him to strengthen this faith which He works in and through me.

I’ve been told that God has done all He is going to do for us. This is taught from the pulpits. But it’s deeper than that simple and frightening lesson. He’s not done. He sent Jesus. He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us. He is the trinity; He is Jesus and the Holy Spirit. A triune God who does not leave nor forsake His children. He is the quintessential Good Father. The father who never hurts, never leaves, never condemns. He is Abba Father. He is Daddy. He is Creator. He is Infallible.

And He loves us.

I seek Him.

I seek Him with all my strength. I seek His face continually.

1 Chronicles 16:11

O God, You are my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You  in this dry and thirsty land, where no water is; Psalm 63:1

****

He says.

See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

Deuteronomy 3:15-16

I seek life according to God’s will. I do this in light of what we go through in this life of ours. In light of what we are being told. I grasp onto His Word, His commands, laws and decrees. I seek life for us, in all of this talk of medicine, treatments, clinical trials. I seek life despite the negative reports of what they see as “professionals”. I seek life in God the Father, in our Jehovah Rapha, our healer.

I will fight to seek … turn my eyes to see His face.

I seek God. Nothing else.

I am looking up.

Within God is all that I seek. Within Christ is healing life and salvation.

Thank you for reading. Blessings to you.
