Dare to Believe … Five Minute Friday on Day 24 of 31 Days of Writing!

It’s Friday! That means I not only try to write this post in 5 minutes, with no corrections or edits, but I also attempt to fit Kate’s prompt to my 31 Day Writing Them of Healing Scriptures! Not an easy task sometimes … but hey, I’ll take the dare! 😉

Today’s Prompt is … Dare!

When I had my heart event 5 years ago I stepped into trusting God for my healing. I had that God experience on the gurney {you can read that here.} and dared to step out to change my lifestyle.

But that wasn’t the only DARE I encountered.

After I got “well enough” I dared to share healing with my family. My family who live with many, MANY, health issues, covering all areas of one’s life. From several forms of depression to addictions and various health issues. And their response was tantamount to …

HOW DARE YOU!

Yes, how dare I think I’m better than them, or that God would heal me and not them. They didn’t understand God the way that I did. They don’t enjoy the relationship I enjoy with Him. And if they read this, and some might, there will be issue with this.

But yet again, I DARE to share this, my understanding of what God says about my {OUR} healing!

Healing is a promise to us from God! We received it in our Salvation Package! I love calling it that. God bundled Salvation, Grace and Healing into our package contract!

And it cost us NOTHING! No monthly fee … no cancellation if we don’t hit the mark, or pay the debt. FREE … healing, like salvation and grace, came free when we came into Covenant with God!

Full Definition of COVENANT – Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

1:  a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement :  compact
2a :  a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action
In the Hebrew scriptures, an agreement or treaty among peoples or nations, but most memorably the promises that God extended to humankind (e.g., the promise to Noah never again to destroy the earth by flood or the promise to Abraham that his descendants would multiply and inherit the land of Israel). God’s revelation of the law to Moses on Mount Sinai created a pact between God and Israel known as the Sinai covenant. In Christianity, Jesus’ death established a new covenant between God and humanity.
Jesus is the promise, He is the seal on the contract of our Salvation!
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains , yet we considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God . But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
I dare to believe God at his word. I dare to share, at the expense of being criticized by others, the amazing love that God had for us that He sent His only Son so that we could have life with Him. That we could experience what it means to be created in His likeness. To enjoy a life free of illness and pain. If only we would believe.
Yesterday’s post was about God’s Instructions and the instruction book … wherein He gives us the most vital instruction of all … To BELIEVE … that whoever believes … WHOEVER … that is you and me and everyone! Shall NOT perish but have eternal life … that, right there, is the promise of healing!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I dare you to believe! Check it out … John 3 is an amazing Scripture.

Thanks so much for reading! Blessings.

Healing Scripture Day 23 of 31 Days … A Journey

Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Instruction … Often we long for, and voice that longing in our day to day, instructions in life. We’ve heard people say, and probably said ourselves: “I wish there was a book of instructions for life.”

There is a How To For Life book! The Bible.

basic.instruction.before.leaving.earth

basic.instruction.before.leaving.earth

A popular acronym used by Christians:

Bible:“Basic. Instructions. Before. Leaving. Earth.”

Well, if you’re one that has built your faith into a relationship with God then you know this to be true, as cheesy as the little cliche has become. If you are new and learning … I assure you once I chose to live my life according to God’s will and timing my learning of the Word and applying the same to my life accelerated and became almost easy.

Note I said Almost Easy. This is after all life and we were not promised easy … we were promised it would be worth it. And so far, for me, it’s been worth it.

The scripture I began with is instruction for life … It was to the Israelites who were trying to get to the promised land; but true to human behavior they were complaining and fussing that it wasn’t coming as quickly and as easily as they had envisioned. They had to be continually reminded, encouraged and instructed to follow God and His timing.

They couldn’t wrap their heads around the process. They couldn’t get past putting human attributes to God. Like us they were human with human faculties … and they would get a few step forward and fall several back, into their own understanding.

Yes! The Old Testament is relevant to us today … it reveals our human-ness if we pay attention. The Israelites were just like we are today!

So as to healing … it’s God’s promise to us from the very beginning. Like I’ve said many times on my blog; Our healing was delivered in the Atonement and received at the exact moment of our Salvation!

Our salvation and our healing are one in the same!

We were created In His Image, In His Likeness. We were created to be just like God, and God is NEVER ill. He’s NEVER had a cold, or the flu, or cancer … NEVER; and neither did His Son!

So the instruction for healing here, is much the same as any other instruction for Life … And were given EVERYTHING we need for life … and Godliness {In His likeness!}. And the scripture above is clear … for us it’s to get in The Word, get to know God and His will, His plan and His timing and live your life accordingly. The exact instruction is spelled out right there in His words.

His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

He has a separate the name Healer:

Jehovah Rapha: The Lord Who heals!

I encourage you to get into the book of God’s Instructions for our life and find EVERY.WORD. He said about your healing. You see, I know that I am healed, regardless of what I am feeling in this body or am hearing from the “professionals” and then I refer to His Word and I trust in THAT WORD while doing what He has instructed through the doctors. After all it was our Healer who created the Doctor. 😉

Do you need healing today? Won’t you let me pray for/with you, according to His Word and Will for you life? I would love to be in agreement with you for your complete healing … it’s yours, right here and right now!

Thanks so much for reading. It is my sincere hope that I have sparked a glimmer of hope in you to seek your healing for Jesus, The True Physician. Blessings.

Humbly Speaking About Humility | Tuesday@10 on Day 21 of 31Days

It’s Tuesday again, the day I attempt to utilize the Word Prompt from Tuesday@10 into The 31Day Writing Challenge! Some are easier than others … this one took some pondering, though I know what I wanted to get across.

This weeks prompt from KarenBeth is Humility and it certainly took a bit of time to wrap Healing up into Humility.

So may I humbly submit to you, my offering of prayer and healing to you, today.

Breaking Through to the Other Side of It ...

Breaking Through to the Other Side of It …

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10

True humility is a virtue I desire, most Christians desire; but like many of God’s characteristics, humility is not one I come by naturally.

Humility is not a value; it doesn’t express weakness or timidity. It is, rather, a gift from God, by grace, that should be revealed through our character. Humility, by definition is the opposite of pride.  And Jesus taught on humility, while on earth.

“Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11

People who are truly humble do not seek attention, they do not seek to push a personal agenda. Genuinely humble Christians seek only to advance God by being the example of what God does through them, as individuals. It’s not about me teaching you how to pray, or instructing you how to receive your healing. It’s my showing, through my life and experiences, how God The Father has worked His plan through me!

God works mightily through the honest humility of people!

I can humbly tell you that I don’t know why I am alive today, after the diagnosis of congestive heart failure 5 years ago. I haven’t lost the necessary weight yet that would ensure heart health; though I’ve made strides and then failed. But I’ve gotten up from that failure to stride again, by the grace of God! It’s not me … my health is completely about God and His plan for me.

It is in all humility that I stand in awe of God’s Works, when it comes to The Hubs life and battle with the diagnosis of cancer! It is definitely by His Grace alone that we have come to this place in this battle full of life and love and testimony of healing and health. It is by God’s grace that The Hubs continues to stun the doctors with vibrant lung health even as they refuse to tell us that the cancer is gone and he is healed. And it will be to God’s Glory and Honor alone when they come to the conclusion that The Hubs is, most definitely Healed and Healthy! I anticipate, with great joy and excitement, that testimony!

I don’t have the answers, except that I believe God at His Word that I am {we are}  healed and that He has a purpose for me! I do not know the time of these miracles and their testimonies … I just know that they are there for us in God’s time. When this healing will make the most impact upon those around us!

When I stumble, and oh how I stumble, I do my level best to get back up and resubmit myself, humbly and with repentance to my Father God, always thankful that He is there with His Word to help me back up so that I can follow His instruction. I confidently put my trust in God and do not arrogantly demand that God allow me to do things on my own. I am useless on my own!

And speaking with honest humility, I have to say that I don’t do the above, ANYMORE! And when stress or life or emotions have me leaning back into my own human-ness; I humbly ask God for forgiveness, as soon as I come to my senses.

“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his Word {Jesus} and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his Wonderful works to humankind.”

Psalm 107:19-21

… let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.

Being thankful is a part of humility. It’s admitting that I don’t know everything, in fact I know very little of what I need to do in life, without Him to guide me. And oh, let me tell you how thankful I am! Actually there are no words to describe this gratitude!

And humbly, we declare and decree the Word of God.

“Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.”
I thank God that “By His stripes Iam healed.”
And “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
All the honor to God the Father that “I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.”
“I will not forget the benefits of God. He heals all my diseases.”
I stand in awe that “The Lord restores health to me and heals me of my wounds.”
I thank Him, humbly that “Affliction will not rise up a second time.” within me.
Thank you Father that “The power of the Lord is present to heal you.”and me. In Jesus’ name I pray Your Words back to Your memory Lord, that You would see me, Your humble daughter, and bestow upon me Your healing touch. Amen.

Healing Sunday {3} A Reaquainting with the Jesus of the Bible ** 31days of Healing Scriptures

On this 19th day of this challenge we had a much loved guest preacher in and OH how God confirmed and worked; from praise and worship to the prayer time at the end it was ALL about …

Jesus

The Jesus of the Bible and His finishing of what He had come to do! Quickly let me share with you the confirmation {for and about my lil’ Sis), instruction, a video and what I came back home with.

The Confirmation: 2 Timothy 1:7 ~ A well known and used scripture!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

My sister has something going on health wise, and RN or not these things frighten her; whether it’s herself, her children or just anyone she cares about. She’s frightened of dying, I think, and of other “health” issues that are prone in our family. So she shared on everyone’s favorite social media outlet and asked for prayer and I answered. She knows God is with her and she knows that He’s always taken care of her; but like many of us in these situations she wondered if she might be asking too much this time, again, I believe. This time she has a specific fear: the side effects of Chantix, the quit smoking drug. She’s trying to get healthier and the drug touts some interesting side effects.

My response was: You’re going to be fine. YOU know God is with you! And I shared with her 2 Timothy 1:7.

Well the confirmation that I had ministered to her correctly was today’s sermon and the Scriptures used; including 2Tim 1:7. Gotta Love it when God let’s you know you’ve done well like that!

The Instruction: Getting to REACQUAINTED with The Jesus of the Bible! The preacher said that years ago he had started to do something specific. When he was feeling aches and pains or downright sick he would go to the New Testament and read the stories about all those that Jesus had healed, and in no time he would be well again.

Jesus Cross

Instruction: Say, Pray and Read what God says about your illness, malady or just that little bout of sniffles.

The preacher’s message was, It is Finished.

John 19:30 When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished,” and bowed his head and dismissed his spirit.

Jesus’ last words from the cross. You see Jesus came to finish something … He came to destroy the works of the devil, and He did! Healing is a result of that finished work!

With it He gave to us “not a spirit of fear; but of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND. Study that out sometime …

We have the authority and Power to overcome illness!

We have have the Love of God within us and are called to give that back out!

And …

We have been given Soundness of Mind to do ALL of this.

Do you want more and more of God’s kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better. For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us! And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings he promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us his own character. 2Peter 1:2-4

Do you want more? Then join me and get to know Him better … Follow Jesus to healing by reading about all the healing He performed in the New Testament. Read, follow and pray how He healed and receive that healing yourself! The more we know Him and His character the more we receive His great power and everything we need for life and godliness … then receive more of His own character!

The better we know Him, the closer we get, the more His character becomes apart of us!

Press in andGod will respond to you, Manifest Healing comes within that response.

And now a video of the fabulous song we sang in worship of Him today! Wish you could hear our worship band playing this … it was amazing! One of young ladies has an incredible and anointed voice and she sings this with such moving emotion, I can’t even explain it in words, it must be felt. =) May this bless you!

We are not shaken, we are not moved …. We wait upon you Lord! Let this song wash over your spirit and I promise you will feel the healing begin as He responds to your praise! ❤

Healing Prayer … getting The Word In | 31 Days: 16

Rx - The Word of God

Rx – The Word of God

It’s October 16th and we have 16 days left in this challenge of 31 Days of Writing.

Yesterday I rededicated my focus on God and getting His healing Word in. Thinking about it more, I wanted to the next 16 days to be  full of scriptural healing prayers. Surrendering my doubts and fears to God and filling up on His healing words.

So I went about researching His healing bible verses and found this, on Belief Net.com: Healing Bible Verses. Researching bible verses has become easier with Google, for sure! But don’t forget, it is important to read before and after any scripture to receive full understanding. Full understanding of what God is saying is pertinent. =)

Lord,

I am Your child, I am and will continue to be attentive to Your words;
to Your sayings I will incline my ear.
I will not allow them to  escape from my sight;
I will keep them in the midst of my heart.
For they are life to those of us who find them
and healing to our entire body.
With all vigilance, I will keep my heart,
for from it comes the source of life. Amen

Proverbs 4:19-23

This is my beginning prayer, today.  I will continue to pray scripture, today, because if there’s anything I learned on this walk with my Lord it is that praying His Word never fails. These words are His will … they are His promises, unsullied by my thoughts or ideas or interpretations. It is the Word He inspired in Solomon {who is said to have written most of the Book of Proverbs} to share with us. As most know Proverbs are a guide book, depicting clearly the right and wrong ways to live this life. There is incredible guidance in this book.

I pray that these coming 16 prayers might get into your heart for healing. No matter what that healing is … Spirit {Heart}, Mind {Thought and Reasoning} or Body {Physical}.

Tell me, if you would, what healing do you need prayer for today … tomorrow? Let me know in the comments and I will share and pray healing prayers with you, for you, because I believe when we intercede for others our own healing is manifest.

I saw this quote recently, author unknown.

All Christians are called to prayer, for intercession.

Won’t you allow me to pray for you today. =)

Belief and Healing | 31days:13

Uprooted

Uprooted

My motivation for this 31 Day Journey Through Scripture for Healing was and is to get God’s promises for healing – Divine healing into my head and ultimately into my heart. My true spiritual heart where I can continually tap into what I honestly see as truth in regard to healing.

My desire is MANIFEST healing, manifest health. I want to walk, not just in, as this gives me the ability to walk “out” of; I want to prove out Manifest Health. I want to be able to tap into the KNOWLEDGE that I am healed in Christ – inside and out.

Yet this desire causes me stress.

Because I’m not attaining it right now.

Because I have moments; many right now, when I realize I’m not hungry, and in fact I feel quite the opposite, yet I go and get that comfort food that my mind is telling me I want.

Because I need to move, yet I have no, absolutely no, motivation to get up and start what I know I must do to be healthy. Walk, move, do something, do anything!

Because, though I believe God at His word I must beg Him to forgive my unbelief … not in Him, not in His promise … but, my unbelief that I could be the recipient of Him and His promise of healing. I really believe that though I understand in my head it has not dropped those 18 inches to my heart.

My heart that that literally NEEDS to receive healing.

To my heart where The Spirit actually resides within me!

And God said we could …

Ask, Seek, Knock: Matthew 7

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

There it is … helping the God information get from my head to my heart!

But am I asking? Or … am I sitting here, unmotivated, hoping God will look down on me and just give me what I should be asking Him for. This says that I must ask.

I.MUST.ASK. Maybe I do not have because I do not truly ask God to handle this. Maybe I’m doing this alone, on my own power … and I can’t, I really seem not to be able.

James 4

2b You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

The stress of knowing that this obesity I struggle with is due to some past harm within me; that this is the symptom of a physical or emotional wound is the same stress that blocks my ability to get well.

I believe this. So here it is … another layer of the onion that must be peeled away so that God’s Divine Healing can manifest within me.

I don’t have to rehash the harms and wrongs and wounds that I have truly dealt with. I now have to find that tiny shred of  “YOU ARE WORTHLESS” that I allowed to be deeply instilled within me.

No. That’s wrong … I didn’t allow the original instillation of self doubt and lack of self worth … what I allowed was the wallowing in and the coveting of that wound so that I could remain resentful by rights of those abuses. So in the time it took me to cultivate that crop of resentment (years) it was able to blossom in some deep and dark places within me that now must be rooted out and exposed to the light.

And this is where I agree that Christianity has a touch of brain washing to it.

I am human. On some of the harder days I forget I am chosen and loved by the Father Creator. It’s not that I cease to know this truth, it’s more that it fails to rise up in me to remind me. And this is because I am distracted by the hardness of the moment.

Let’s face it … during times of stress we humans forget things. Even us Christians forget and try to do things, figure things, that are not within our understanding.

What I need to remember: God’s Sovereignty.  I was made in His image. I have His DNA, we all do, and that is perfect.

But … I am not God.

I’m almost 50 years old here. I have never conquered this obesity. It’s roots were deep, I know, and God and I have worked hard to remove them … but like a tree that is cut down, the roots, underground must be destroyed, ground out, so that the tree does not begin to grow, again in that area again. The root must be destroyed, too, so that it will not move, underground, unseen, to rise in a new location where it blooms and grows anew.

Roots

Roots

Destroying the Roots

Destroying the Roots

He is God, alone. And I believe and I ask Him to take this remnant root and destroy it, once and for all, so that I may walk out that promise He gave me on that gurney 5 years ago!

Thanks for reading my faithful friends.

Originally uploaded by The Casual Photographer

I’m having a slow, tired, rainy day. Most of us experience these. However, mine, in the gloom of an overcast, rainy Jersey day, becomes a thing of negativity. Having slept in due to fatigue, and this Wednesday being the first day in two weeks where I was not bound to an errand based schedule, I inadvertently slipped into a depressive state.

At noon I forced myself up and moving. I am always amazed at how quickly I slip right back into my old man.

Instantly…

I begin with I’ll take a twenty-minute rest and two hours later that rest has turned into a sleep that sets me off track.

Off track in body, mind and spirit.

Yes…that is all it takes for me.

Those who have suffered with depression, and I do not participate in depressive states of being any longer!, understand that sleep is an enemy. A symptom, not a remedy!

I grabbed my cold cup of coffee from earlier…I know, some don’t understand cold coffee 🙂 I was raised to nurse a cup of coffee all day! Got dressed, folded some laundry and headed to the office feeling fatigued.

An over-sleep induced fatigue, I was not feeling well…

Depression!

I ditched a few of my e-mail devotionals as they were not speaking to me and then opened Kim Potter’s , A New Thing Ministries motivational for today, “Write it Down”. I also read part of Sarah Markley’s blog for this morning; “Sarah Who?”, but stopped because I felt it didn’t speak to me…that is until I coupled it with Kim Potter’s!

Depression makes me feel invisible, unnoticeable, unWorthy…all lies. I know these lies intimately and the masquerade as truths. Truth Imposters spoken by others….angry parents, the school yard bullies, the popular girl in class, the cute boy who laughed when you bought his attention for something it was not…LIES of invisibility and scorn.

As I lay there in my late waking, trying to motivate myself into being productive, I thought about all those productive things God has gifted me with.

ONE stands, mocking me…because I know it was a restored gift, and I cannot figure out by what (who) or how the brick wall of fear was erected!

ME…

*ANDREA, WRITER.

Sarah in her post this morning, found that being one of a zillion Sarahs on the planet caused her to always lead with her last name to identify herself. She found it demeaning that people didn’t recognize her voice or know which Sarah she was.

I think I am in a different place. I find myself demeaning myself in regard to the gift I know I have been called to use.

I believe it is the title; WRITER… How pretensious of me to believe that I am a Writer…see I couldn’t even put it in bold.

…then I think, or the Holy Spirit rises and speaks…how sinful is it that I don’t believe what God has given me…

I love to write. I am good at writing.

I’m not exactly a Story Teller, I am a Life Teller.

I share from where I am, I write from my heart, perspective and life.

I have been given an assignment to write. To write a specific book. Yet I cannot put the pen to paper, or the words on the screen.

I sit, in sadness; depression and think “maybe tomorrow”!

And then….

I just feel less than. Not able, a nothing…a nobody. NOT WORTHY!

I am choosing this, I know…

In my morning (afternoon) devotions I was given another, more personal assignment, from God.

“Write the vision down and make it plain; that YOU, ANDREA may run when you read it.” Habakkuk 2:2, adaptation.

Kim’s motivational explains that when we write these things down they become registered in the Kingdom. While God instructed that things be written, engraved or inscribed on stone, wood or metal, today we have to our avail, as well, the permanency of the internet.

We all know that once something is in cyberspace it is there for all time!

In Habakkuk 2:2 the definitions of the key words are these:

Write: inscribe, engrave, describe or detail in words, register, record and decree

Vision: see, perceive, prophesy – BEHOLD

Read: call out, proclaim, summon, appoint

Oooo I forgot to add this quote from Kim Potter’s blog, very important:

“Just this morning I was reading something that confirmed this action; I want to share it with you ~ KP”

It is from Bill Burns, he said the Lord said; I would have My people to once again be a people of faith.  My challenge to you now is to begin to walk in an absolute faith that refuses double-mindedness and negativity; a faith that refuses to allow the enemy to gain the victory over you. So rise up, you people of faith, for it is by faith that you overcome the world. It is by faith that you enter into a fullness of life in the kingdom of My Son, says the Most High.  Come forth in faith and walk in the power of it.  Demonstrate the kingdom and manifest the supernatural and the fullness of that which I am doing.  Begin to decree and to declare and to write a thing, for as it is written it is released in to the heavenlies and it shall come forth as My word and My word does not return to Me void, says the Lord.

As it is written it is released in to the heavenlies and it shall come forth.  I encourage you today to write your vision and make it plain – in doing so, you guarantee its release and it’s coming forth.  Remember, His word does NOT return void.

Today I will engrave in words and on my heart that I am Andrea, Writer. I will see, I will behold the gift and assignment given me by God, done; completed. I will proclaim and thank my God for the gift that He has graced me with, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks for reading Loves.

Blessings ♥
